Need help writing a step sequencer script for AKAI APC mini

Last weekend I bought an APC mini because I needed a grid controller which I can use as a step sequencer for Bitwig Studio. I already gained some experience in writing controller scripts for Bitwigs v1.0 controller API by implementing a script for Edirol's PCR series.

For the new script I will be using the v2 controller API and I am developing the script against Bitwig 2.1beta2 but,
unfortunately, I was not able to figure out how to get the note data of the selected clip.
The controllers button grid should be an 8x8 view on the current clip, where the x-axis are steps (in a controllable note length, 1/8, 1/16, etc.) and the y-axis are the keys.
Maybe I am missing to register some note observer?

PS: I am aware of the existing APC mini by Jürgen Moßgraber but it does way too much for my use case and I only need a step sequencer to program drum patterns, I've enough keyboards for everything else.

So did you manage to create a sequencer script for the APC mini? I am trying to write a seq script for Kontrol X1 and I am kinda lost at this point.
