Okay, it's not massively complicated, but it does ask a little more of the auditioner - it's not as simple as just flicking through the patches one after the other, they've also got to stop adjust bpm, then when they load another patch they have to readjust and so on (and, bearing in mind the low uptake for voting for the current contest, I'm thinking that it might be best to make the auditioning process as easy as possible).xh3rv wrote:I guess I also feel pretty strongly that showing an intended BPM is not too complicated (if anyone doesn't know where the BPM control is ...).hakey wrote: The alternative might be to include bpm in the patch name - "Dub Riddim 65bpm" - but as I say, for voting purposes, I'd rather keep things as simple as possible. If more people think that the bpm issue needs addressing I'll certainly reconsider.
And I really think (I was going to say 'equally strongly', but my opinion on the matter isn't quite that strident )that a good rhythmic patch would be one that can be used over a range of tempi - certainly from say 70 bpm through to 140 (or there and there abouts).
