OK people, I'm currently optimizing all 50 + bonus Collector's patches... I'll strive to get them out for your enjoyment (and mine :hihi: ) later on today, so you can have them by tomorrow! :)

I've learned a lot in the past months about sound design and am very familiar with Zebra so ...
All patches were reworked and brought to a new quality standard.

TBA! :)

Cheers,

Sounds great! What sound design info/site/tutorials did you read? I could use some fresh reading, thanks!

Oh bty, I did get the Akai MPK49, the rotary work very well! And midi routing to the sliders and rotary knobs in FLS is very easy using the FLS process. I cant seem to get Zebra mapped via the right click method, may be I've my hand eye coordination skills ? :? . hmmm.

Now back to our regularly schedule thread

Most of what I've learned was by trial and error. Than trying to emulate details of real instruments helped big time, taking part in patch contests, Howard's new videos :D and some "random" tutorials on YouTube and some texts like: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1997_ar ... hool1.html (hope to finish reading all the parts soon),
http://www.propellerheads.se/substance/ ... ng-reason/ and others I don't remember....

I guess that's an FL thing... I can't get that linked as well :D

Wow, these are some awesome patches!
Definitely usable. I love that Micromachines drumkit - It's mainly what inspired me to make those drumkits I uploaded here recently. The "floot' I like very much as well and I think it may be showing itself in some of my music.
Also noteworthy are the basses and the keys. You've definitely got a nice touch!

Hey, thanks Corin! :) I thought that the bass patches didn't turned out that great but there sure are some interesting ones... like "Controversial Shifter" dnb bass or "Plasticsaw"
My favorites are mostly in the poly section, like Aural EP, FroZen (with MW) or FM Clav to name a few.
In case you haven't got this, I made an initialize patch for creating percussion kits with Zebra, you can get it here: http://www.box.net/shared/t57oc5v7p0b15mahi9vj

Have you noticed that the pitch wheel up is used for flutter? :)

No, but I'll check it out. My pitchwheel actually doesn't always work when you push it up. Coincidentally, It's an Axiom 61... :hihi: ...wish I'd saved my money for one of those Novation Controllers. Oh well, all the keys and sliders still work, mostly what counts for me at the moment.
Oh, and thanks for the Percussion template, I'll check it out later. :)

Whew, it's gonna take a while to get through these 3ee, I'm still stuck on the basses. Loving the ride so far, thanks a ton for sharing these!

(It's presets like these and Michael's free banks that make doing the PatchLib and the Voting on the contests all worth it.)

Cheers!

Corin, if you use Reaper, go pick up a $10 usb gamepad. The analog sticks work *great* as midi sources. It's how I do modwheel, pitch-bend, and aftertouch. Here's the script I wrote (I'm zenmonkey over there):

Nice work! I'm fairly sure that I actually read that post at some point in the past while hunting for new methods of MIDI control. :)
I don't use Reaper, but I've tried it, and it seems very sleek. I'm an FL Power user. :borg:
Is it possible to get a rig like that working in FL? If there is, I'm sold.

Thanks for the feedback everybody, glad you are enjoying the patches! :)
Let me know if you have some favorites after you're getting used to the set.

Corin, you know that the pitch wheel action in FL Studio is based on the channel's pitch range, right? That is set to 2 by default and it should be set to 12.

Speaking of PWs, mine is kinda broken  I had to "deactivate" it by setting the min and max values to 64 otherwise it jumps between ~ 65 and 71.... even so it's really annoying :/ creeply resetting my pitch channel settings.

I haven't tried it but there is this VST: http://www.virtuasonic.com/mijoypro.htm
It may be usable with FL studio. For what it's worth he has it listed in his compatibility matrix:
