What's really weird about it, or what makes my head hurt thinking about it, is that pretty much any small file, be it a vst, or a patch set, or even say an mp3 (at least back in ye olden days when people stole just one song at a time) gets warez'd more than it actually sells. But then that's most of the industrialized world in a nutshell, ie = more people buy on credit than they do with money they actually have, and more people throw something (and just buy another one on credit) away rather than get it fixed.mcnoone wrote:As for the warez leechers note I mentioned.
It just sucks for the software industry as a whole.
Hope someday they can put an end to it.
And I don't expect any kind of 'end to it', because that's called regulation, and it's a very bad word in countries that have corporations in them. If they had to actually check the legality of something before they did it, they'd all be closed by next week at this time. And if you want to actually enforce the rules, and get them to start making sure they aren't breaking the law every minute of every day with every single thing they do to make $ off the workers and consumers, well then they just threaten to move their office (the only part of the company that's even left) to another more "business-friendly" place. One with no regulations, where there is no responsibility, and the rules/laws are cheaper to buy or ignore.
Other than that, I think I made about $0.10 per hour for my Zebra patch sets, were I to actually sit down and do the accounting. So if yer up to a dime an hour for the time spent yet, then yer 'winning' as much as I am at least ha-ha. Luckily, it's harder if not unpossible, for anyone to take away the things I learned, or the enjoyment I had along the way. And that's all you can hope for in life really.
