I'd really like to pick up the package, but I don't see doing forking over money that won't be supported in the future. Any idea if/when AAX support might happen?

Clemens has looked into it. We believe it's possible, but we're not sure yet if AAX meets our requirements for communication between the user interface and the actual dsp plugin.
Also, we're holding our breath about the outcome of Avid's restructuring process. We don't want to put effort in a plugin format that might have a limited lifespan.
So as always, while we do have plans to support AAX, we can't promise anything at this point of time.

It's quite depressing, really.cjguitar wrote:Any news? Haven't heard anything in a while.
We looked into it and it seems doable, but the need to "sign" binaries with some PACE tool among other things seems too quircky to reserve less than a month for this.
Last year we did RE, VST3 and a Cocoa layer for VST2 Mac. Between those and some other things (e.g. multicore support) we spent so much time, our maintenance release is still in beta, half a year after we wanted to release it. The only way to ever release this update is to freeze the plugin framework. Hence any effort to do AAX has to wait until after this is finished. We're in good spirits now that we can release right before or after Musikmesse, in mid April.
Hence, well, if all goes well and if PT11 holds up to its promises then we might put the time into it some time in May-August.
Beforehand we will however create a separate download area on our website that'll host legacy RTAS versions. I'm going to try to at least compile Uhbik, ACE and Zebra in the latest version for RTAS, provided that the project still opens and compiles after almost two years of change. Filterscape and MFM2 don't benefit much from the update, so I'd rather keep their existing RTAS versions.
Quite frankly though, pulling a very well working VST-AAX wrapper from Sugar Bytes wasn't the most encouraging move by Avid. Depressing.

Long time?
Last set of public betas was released exactly 2 months ago, next batch is just around the corner:

Uhbik beta installers come with AAX versions since... I think December 2013, probably earlier.

In this case, "beta" equals "in development"optofonik wrote:According to the Uhbik page on the U-he website there is still no AAX version, "Pro Tools AAX in development":#rob wrote:Long time?

Easiest thing to do is get the Bluecat Patchwork and host your VST in there, very efficient and stable.

any news? I see other u-he aax now.
There is no decent tremolo for the aax platform other than soundtoys tremolator, but the price is kind of criminal when you realise you can get all of uhbik for the same money. (ok ok there is goodhertz also, but again silly price for one effect and for that money i expect a more informative gui, especially for a tremolo).
I have vst options to load in patchworx but i DO want something native and this seems to be the one that would make the most sense. It would also provide a decent flanger.
I have the RP a mod which is better than nothing, but the tremolo is quite basic. With soundtoys and uhbik you can do sequences so to speak.
if there's no chance of it happening, i'll just suck it up and buy the soundtoys whilst it's on sale.. but if there IS a chance, i'd rather wait. I'm all about sensible spending these days, and uhbik is way better value.
