It's an oversight - it'll be replaced by a lock icon (improved version of the one in Satin). It's there, but it was forgotten to be added to the installer.

Haven't found this in the known issues list but has been in every beta:
Is there any reason that the step size differs when using the mouse wheel on knobs? E.g. input knob: steps in 0.61dB increments, output knob/threshold knob 0.45dB increments, level knob 0.3dB.
Also i find the two digit decimal place (is that the correct english expression? Zwei Nachkommastellen, "%.2f") for lower values a bit silly. Not life-threatening tragic, just that I cannot hear the difference anyway

Also one FR: would it be possible to have the preset window close when I click anywhere else? I guess i am so used from todays web pages to overlays closing when clicking in the empty space, I am doing this in Presswerk every time I want to close the presets. Silly, I know...

So obviously I have no real problems :hihi:

I gave Presswerk a plug on recordingreview.com. Does that mean I will get good Karma? ;)

I disagree; I feel like the preset window's persistence is a valuable feature. It simplifies the mechanics of quickly auditioning various presets from the browser while adjusting the compressor's controls (namely, threshold will always need to be set). It's also nice to be able to tweak controls while referring to the preset description, which may contain useful comments from the preset designer.

That's exactly the reason why we made it small and movable. Such a type of effects plugin rarely works right away with a preset over your own audio source. There's always something minor to adjust, therefore we think keeping the window open ensures the best workflow most of the time.

I'm still hoping you guys make it so you can move the preset browser completely away from on top of the UI. For Presswerk and Bazille, I personally find those preset browsers are ALWAYS in the way, my 2 cents.

Maybe you missed it... you CAN move it yourself! In Presswerk, just try to click+drag on the light-gray background...

I missed it too until Sascha's post up above.

Very Nice..

Unless I'm pulling a serious no brainer here, the preset browsers only move up or down. I'm talking about being able to move them completely away from the interface - to the left or right as well, so no part of the plugin UI gets covered.

Personally, I find I want to see the whole plugin scrolling through presets. With Presswork, I always want to see all the settings for sure, and in Bazille, it pretty much obscures any chance of getting a quick idea of the patches general working.

As well, in Bazille, the mapping generators cannot be moved off of the UI and when working with patches this is really annoying. If you want to make fine adjustments to mod levels while making your sequences, you have to keep moving the mapping generator around get to the UI. Seems small, but it's actually really annoying when your cruising along.

So ya, allow all floating dialogues to be moved completely away from covering the plugin UI is what I say!! :)

Scrolling through presets is possible using the arrows on the left and right sides of the data display in the always-visible upper panel. You can also click on the data display to select a preset from a list of presets in the immediate folder. These are features of all u-he plugins. :tu:

Yes, but the concept is not exlusive to presets, as I pointed out in my comment. In Bazille it's actually quite cumbersome.

As well, to be nitpitcky, the drop down menu's don't allow access to the banks of presets, so one still has to open the library.

Sadly I turned off my computer already so I can't remember which preset it was. It was one of the Drum bus ones..
My default patch has auto make up gain locked for both channels, however when I choose this preset, it keeps the one on channel one as makeup gain automatic and locked but shows the channel two as locked but disabled.

Hm, I don't think it's possible to move the mapping generator panes around; they're just sitting there in the Tweaks & FX tab, no? I can understand your frustration at having to switch back and forth repeatedly between the Tweaks & FX tab and the Synth tab in certain scenarios, but there's only so much you can fit into a single GUI view while still allowing fine control. Of course, there's the Gear Porn skin if you want to see everything at once, but then you lose precision in your mapping generator edits. I feel the two skins offer reasonable trade-offs.

Essentially what you're asking for requires a single instance of the plugin, mind you whose GUI is restricted to a window within your DAW, to spawn a second window within your DAW belonging to the same instance. I'm not aware of any plugins that do this (at least not AU in Logic; perhaps things are different in other DAWs and with VSTs). I suspect this is out of spec.

Scrolling via the arrows, however, does move seamlessly among different presets from one folder/bank to the next, so that's fine for general preset surfing. If you need to select a specific bank, I think it's not an unreasonable burden to do so from within the preset browser before continuing your preset surfing with the arrows.

I actually didn't get that to work in Presswerk, but it does on all the other u-he softwares I have afaik.
