What happened to the Zebra 2.8 update that was revealed earlier this year? The "A couple of months" has passed now, so my fingers are getting itchy to get busy with it over the summer holidays.. (fingers crossed). 8)

Is the redesign-work on the browser for Repro-5 the reason for the delay on the Zebra 2.8 update as well?

Yes, sort of.

We want to get feedback on the new browser system first, before we start implementing it into all of our products and then maybe have to fix a bunch of overlooked issues -- in all of our products.

The Zebra2 v2.8 update is going to be a huge one, and we don't want to put features in it that then maybe have to be pulled again because something didn't work out, and then put them back in because we think "this should do", and so on.

We definitely can't expect "normal users" to constantly keep updating from beta to beta with constantly changing features, just to have a somewhat "stable" working experience.

Instead, we'd rather like to see how it goes with Repro-5 first, put that out as our guinea pig, make sure all showstopper bugs or workflow issues in the browser are ironed out. And once that is the case, we can put the new and working browser into Zebra2 for a rock-solid v2.8 release that will be able to support its own weight for a while, giving us time to focus on other necessary development, like putting the working new browser into other products. :)
Cheers,
Rob

That's because you want to. Pretty sure that dynamic changes quickly as soon as you HAVE to. ;)

Very understandable. Maybe it's about time I signed up as a beta-tester.. got loads of testing experience for other companies btw, and I have no problem with NDA's.
