To those of you proficient in this with this sort of thing, I would gladly pay for an interface to enable eas(ier) use of "Channel 16" in Virtual Guitarist and Virtual Guitarist Electric Edition. This is the somewhat undeveloped potential of VG (and VG EE) to work with all the guitar samples in the program.

I just thought I would throw this out there to people who do this sort of stuff. (I think there would be a large portion og VG and VG EE owners who would be interested)

Hey Jeff I recognize your name from my searches for "Channel 16" on the VG website forums :)

It's amazing that nothing has been documented on this functionalitiy because ultimately I think this is where I'd find most benefit. I'm tired of writing songs to fit the stock patterns rather than fitting my custom patterns to the groove.

There must be some Channel 16 expert out there. Even a break down of the way some of the existing patterns are composed. Perhaps some midi files to demonstrate your work?

I hear you. The VG concept could move from good to great. If there was (1) an interface that allowed you to control all the samples (Channel 16) with greater ease (along with full documentation), (2) greater chord selection for the heavier guitars, and (3) individual note samples for each of the guitars, so they could be used in conjunction with the full chords.

As it is, it really allows me to add what I really want in a guitar most of the time: heavy rhythm guitars interspersing chuggs and full chords. But, it could be much better.

I would think that to someone so inclined, creating a better interface for channel 16 (along with proper documentation) would not be overwhelmingly difficult.

Not to get all xoxos on you, but SynthEdit is capable of a lot of MIDI processing functionality. If you were using a modular host, or at least one that 'passed on' MIDI from plugin to plugin, then you could looks at doing something with that (see the Line6 POD controller posts for someone who's done that sort of thing for external hardware)
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Thanks, but I am basically a computer idiot, so there is no way I could do it. But if I could palm off the project on someone capable and so inclined, well, it would be a nice feature to have.
