Hi, I have been thinking about creating a software for hobby music production for a long time. What I always found a barrier is different platforms. What's an approach to go around this?

Let's say I could exclude mobile for some reason.

1) Browser with WebAssembly
2) VirtualBox
3) Forcing users to use Windows
4) Forcing users to use Linux
5) Any fully virtualized Java-solution maybe?

I've got no knowledge about the market and what users think. I'm a bit connected to trackers, too, but I don't think they would be the better type of software or so.

Kind regards
Mark

This looks like a kind of project that usually starts with some great enthusiasm and then gets tiring because of the amount of work needed. It's unrealistic basically, given that there are reasonably good free DAWs out there. So it has to be interesting in some way, and just being multi platform is not a way to achieve that.
