You can just remove the definition, it is not required, it's an old trick because inline didn't work in 2010 (actually the compiler says that you are trying to redefine the keyword inline).
Removing it does not work for vs2013 because it still does not seem to recognize the keyword in .c files. A bit odd. Not polite enough to say that you are trying to redefine the keyword inline either. It just gives misleading recommendations that do not help. Probably worth upgrading..

Oh... It's true that their C support was not great, but not recognizing the inline keyword is strange. Anyway, you can also just remove it, it's just a recommendation, it doesn't force the compiler or anything.
