MIDI export to file, missing notes

I purchased energyXT Linux version today. Mostly positive experiences.

However, I tried to export MIDI I had drawn with mouse note by note. Somehow some notes were not in exported file! I checked with three different apps. All of them agreed: there were differences to original (shown by energyXT).

It seems that if there are several similar notes sequentially, first one is written, second dropped, third written... Most of the MIDI was correct, so it wasn't easy to spot where it went wrong.

Now, is there something I did wrong (setting, maybe) or is it a bug?

Here's a (dummy) project and midi output for debug, if it's any help.

Only a few notes, so it's really easy to see the problem.

Hmmm,

I checked with your project and MIDI file but couldn't see any difference.
7 notes on C1, 3 notes on E1 and 2 notes on G1.
I also exported a MIDI file from your dummy project and reimported it again with the same result...
Though, I did my test on an Windows machine.

Maybe someone on Linux should do the check.

Edit:
'7 notes on C1' instead of '6 notes on C1'!

Um, Reaper, LMMS and MusE all report 5xC2, 1xE1 and 1xG1 in that MIDI.

Is there a different "dialect" of MIDI? I don't understand.

In energyXT your view is same as mine except there's 7 C1s.

Sorry, on the first line: "5xC2, 1xE2 and 1xG2"

Otherwise, as I said.

I had a type too in my previous post. I edited it.
I also imported your MIDI file and the one I produced from your project into Mulab and Podium.
All with the same correct result.
7xC1, 3xE1 and 2xG1.

Yes, there are different types of MIDI files (type 0, 1 and 2 - the latter not used at all in real life). 'In a Type 1 file individual parts are saved on different tracks within the sequence. In a Type 0 file everything is merged onto a single track.' I do not think that your problem has any thing to do with those different types.

Do you run Reaper, LMMS and MusE on Linux too (via Wine?). Maybe it has something to do with how and where the MIDI files are stored? But on the other hand: I could easily and correctly import the MIDI file you produced on Windows into 3 different hosts...

Reaper uses Wine; LMMS and MusE are Linux native.

But back in the problem:

This is REALLY curious. I imported energyXT's MIDI to PianoRollComposer and saved it.

Now it shows correctly in Reaper!

What's going on?
