I hate to nominate this, as on the whole I really like Depeche Mode, but I have to put "People Are People" in there. The lyrics, everything... I just cringe in that watching-tv-with-parents-and-unexpected-sex-scene-comes-on type of cringe that makes me want to just dig a hole and hide. The tune, however is quite catchy.

I hate that song even to this day. "Someone left the cake out in the rain and I couldn't take it cause it took so long to bake it and I'll never have that recipe again oh no!
I hate that song so deeply and emotionally with all the soul of my being.
Also the best worst song ever

My German contribution to the worst song ever:
BTW, I like Frank Farian for the Boney M and Milli Vanilli songs. But this song is just awkward...

this made me wanna plunge knitting needles into my ears when it came on the radio every 45 minutes in 1986 while working graveyard shift. for Mr Cetera, it has been too many years since 25 or 6 to 4... and more of the same saccharine pap from Ms Grant. this is why people think the 80s sucked, and with good reason.

sorry, you and everyone is else is wrong, i am kvr's self-appointed arbiter of taste and cool. my word is final.
btw, Ben if you're out there, I am still waiting for my custom moniker to replace the "KVRAF" under my forum handle. I have decided on "The Arbiter of Taste", so do the voodoo that you do and make it so. thanks in advance.

haha, back in the days when i used to over-indulge in 'herbal'cigarettes, mates and i sometimes sat around imagining a fake compilation series which we called 'wako hits'...
it was around the time of the wako seige...not really a laughing matter, although them playing 'achy breaky heart'by billy ray cyrus on continuous loop, intended to encourage surrender, was a source of much amusement to us...so was born 'wako hits volume I'...basically any choon you thought was bad enough to encourage cult-ies to drop the koolaid and run for the hills would be a contender
later, i also started to sort these under the title 'music to kill people by'
will check through the thread to see if any qualify
here's my first contribution :
