Ugh. This song was the 'Subway Buzz Cut of the week' on Ryan Seacrest Top 40 show on Sunday. I absolutely loathe this song - even more now that I watched the tutorial.
Avicii Jr.
Can't wait for his condescending Country and Western crossover song.

I saw that!!! Ohm Force should chop this guys head off!!! What really makes this guy a piece of shit is the fact that he's actually using this stuff professionally. I've only heard about it but I didn't know that jerkoffs like this actually existed!!!!! The line is crossed when you actually make money with this stuff and you decide you just don't feel like paying for it. Not cool at all!!!highkoo wrote:Around 40:

True. It's just very disappointing to see a talented guy who is successful at what he does, using cracked software. Then FM makes a video showing this fact. What kind of world do we live in?

Apparently one where one keeps a studio in a loft with bare walls and fabulous papering.Orbit-50 wrote:What kind of world do we live in?
Free plug-ins for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Xhip Synthesizer v8.0 and Xhip Effects Bundle v6.7.

Well, I for one am not taking this holier than thou the world is black and white approach to piracy.
I'm sure this kid is douchebag because it is despicable to use warezed software if you are making a hefty amount of money and/or fame from your music. Then you should have at least some basic decency to give something back to developers. He certainly aren't the only one. Over the years seen this plenty of times in professional settings.
Now that said I find it perfectly ok to patch out annoying copy protection if you have bought the software. As long as a cracked version gives user a better experience than legitimate I can not blame anyone. I don't what form of CP this particular synth uses, but if it is eLicenser or iLok or some dumb proprietary C/R system then I fully understand why someone would use TeamAir version instead.
Also piracy is not a black an white matter. It certainly is not unequivocally as bad as some make it out to be. This is proven by increasing amount of independent academic research, as anyone who knows the field could tell you.

Savant has said that since that vid was filmed he's purchased all plugins (cue much eyebrow raising and 'suuuure he has' from everyone)
but even if he, garrix, avicci, aoki DID buy them afterwards, this is the message I get from these videos:

which is a stupid thing for Future Music to be so blasé about, really.Kids! its okay to pirate whatever you want, until you get famous enough to make videos and then you are guilted into going legit.

you can't make a hit with a free synth. that's why you need warezed sylenth in the first place.Uedi wrote:krv users can make a similar hit with free synths. zebralette, synth1, kairatune.Igro wrote:Phaha. This song is a top hit? Phahaha!

I'm sure the wallpaper was chosen by his mommy.highkoo wrote:He seems like a cool guy tbh, but yeah between the wall paper and his outfit, there is some kind of old-timey vibe happening.
I wanted the video to be in black and white and have film scratches running through it.
