You know KVR is anti theft ?

It would have been more acceptable to post a link to the original article, rather than steal it :dog:

Its not stealing, if anything its helping promote S.o.s magazine.

the article's contention that we have had everything we need to make "world-class records" for ages, is true (though a very limited, and limiting viewpoint); 'sergeant pepper' would have still been a great album album had it been recorded live to 2-track, with them all sat around a table playing acoustic guitars. mellotrons, 4-tracks etc were all decoration on top of a great foundation, but not totally necessary.

working in certain genres necessitates certain types of gear, regardless of what 'the beatles' accomplished with less. also, the various different workflows that come from seemingly very similar gear, can lead to inspiration that creates it's own genres

while gear acquisition for it's own sake (or from the idea that"if i only had xxx, then i would....") can lead to a lot of wasted time and money, there are many other reasons why buying new tools is not a bad idea at all

Funny,i think it's exactly the opposite.

It's not a question about "knowing" how to exactly create a instrumentation like Sir Martin, that's a fun part and could be used much more creatively.

It's not a question about "us" either.

Buying chosen plugins is a good thing, best if you have an idea about what you want to get,is it worth to mention though?

It's the lack of, i call it audiophile enjoyment for the listener in many computer productions.
So yes i think this part could get more attention.

And while Beatles used 4 tracks machines it wasn't exactly the type of gear you bought for a couple of dollars in a music store (many years later because it wasn't available for an affordable price at this time),as Paul seem to suggest.

"it was the studio's job to capture and enhance the music rather than to radically re-shape it or repair it."
Could't agree more don't know why it should be a contrary though.
He forgot to mention those are two different things.

Plenty of great ideas and music out there,it seems Paul is a bit out of the loop?
