Speaking of Eastern medieval flavors, I think Dead Can Dance qualifies for the topic as well:

A bit like Hedningarna, but with electronica(?) and synth fx, the middle-age/folk-elements varies throughout her albums, but Kari Rueslåtten has some tracks that could come close to topic:

That particular track is indeed on topic! Very Nice. Going to check Kari out. Thanks for the link.

From Croatia, a couple of bands combining traditional Croatian music with electronic beats. Not necessarily middle age inspired, but could be worth a listen.

Legen - fantastic band, although no longer active, they split around 2003 after 10 years. Really loved their work.

KRIES - solo project from one of Legen's founding members
HC BOXER

Both Legen and HC Boxer were active mid 90's till mid 00's

Lots of interesting links there. Two first with Legen had me listen intensively. It was like: what is going on and what is going to happen? Very unpredictable music with mysterious moods."Toke" with HC Boxer has some of this too. Thanks for contributions.

Yep, that's the gist of Legen's work - most of the time you have the feeling like you're lost in the woods and hords of enemies are chasing you with their rabid dogs :D

I think the Swedish band "Nordman" from the same time is exactly what you are looking foor :-)

Wow this is some great music that I've never come across before, thanks everyone!

I wish the YT links weren't so huge in the desktop view of the forums, its kind of overwhelming to have them all load at once.

Not exactly but they qualify for topic for sure. Thanks . In my taste they tip the balance a little too much toward pop/rock music as the music proceeds, like in this song, where the chorus goes into pop on basis of an otherwise original sound.

I guess Nordic people cannot help being a little polluted with Eurovision sound

Cheers

Kurbeats: Scandinavian folk music coupled with electronic psychedelia and sprinkles of tasty odd time signatures.

Thanks.

Know what you mean but it is cool when you can play links directly from the site. But maybe people can post links only if it gets too heavy on one page? Plz do. And thanks again to all.

Great band :tu: I got one of their albums permanently on my player for the last couple of years. No small feat, as I kick out stuff quickly :D

How exactly do we go about that? Pasting the links automatically displays the video. Any way to fix this?

If you put it in a quote block it won't auto convert:
If you underline, italicise or bold it it should stay small:
