I don't listen to a lot of live shows for almost anything. The problem with live shows is the same problem that we used to have before cord cutting, scheduling. I don't want to rearrange my schedule to hear or watch something. So I want to hear streams of a type of content, or youtube channels that focus on a particular kind of content.
I listen to a lot of ambient from somafm, particularly "The Drone Zone."
If you want more participation on your thread, don't make it so restrictive, just ask people to talk about their online sources for X and whether it's a live show, a stream, or a channel. Then, in context, you can defend why you prefer live shows and perhaps get a conversation going about it.
Just my .02
Edit: Since Anode isn't interested in streams, but I suspect that many others are. For the moment, I'll maintain the list here of streams added to this thread along with some of my own. Just a couple to get started today. Feel free to post more if you know of them.
The Drone Zone
SomeFM has several ambient streams, but my favorite is "The Drone Zone" which lives up fairly well to its name. They've stopped playing the bleating goats track at 5AM, which is good. This page takes you to their page of links

Another all ambient stream from electro-music

Thanks for chiming in ghettosynth.f you want more participation on your thread, don't make it so restrictive, just ask people to talk about their online sources for X and whether it's a live show, a stream, or a channel. Note taken concerning your listening habits and why you wouldn`t listen to a radio broadcast.
Two live shows I listen to are on a bit late for me to listen to the entire show, so I record them through my streaming radio player. You might try that. Those two shows are on weekly so the material is up to date, a human is programming, and I like that.
This thread is asking for live ambient radio broadcasts...i`m not changing it. I`m asking for a list, not a discussion. I can`t imagine why no one adds to the list, there must be shows people listen to? Why i`m not getting them here is a mystery.

Used to listen to that too a lot. I prefer the selection from DI.fm Space Dreams channel now though (also beatless, and more spacy which i like, not so much dark). The same guy (Solarsoul) also does the Ambient and Chillout stations there, and it's always good. Can only recommend. SomaFM also brought Aphex Twin a lot of times, which is not exactly my thing, and also a couple of other new age stuff which wasn't exactly my cup of tea.ghettosynth wrote: I listen to a lot of ambient from somafm, particularly "The Drone Zone."

People, please don`t spam my thread.
If you have a live DJ ambient radio show to share please post it here.

I'm trying to help you out man. Whining about people spamming your thread, particularly when the people participating are those who will add something to the conversation, is the fast way to thread death.annode wrote:People, please don`t spam my thread.

The way to get a great thread going is to figure out what you want, you've got that part, and then add to that what you're going to give to everyone else, I gave you that part. Now, the thread will go however it goes, crying that people aren't sticking to your topic, especially when they really are, will fall on deaf ears. You should try to steer the conversation, not dictate the conversation.
Now, since you want the list, you maintain the list. When people post a good source, you add it to the top post in the thread. If you do this right, you will have a long thread that lots of people enjoy and you will end up with what you're looking for. You don't have to maintain the list of streams if you don't want to, but, if you don't, somebody else might start a better thread, and then yours will get ignored.
Do it wrong and the thread will be dead in a few days with very few contributions.

I had a DI subscription last year, I let it lapse. The commercials drive me nuts for an ambient channel, so you have to have a subscription to make that work. Now, I love Aphex Twin. Before I discovered the drone zone I used to fall asleep to SAWII. I, literally, wore the CD out and had to replace it.chk071 wrote:Used to listen to that too a lot. I hear you on the new age stuff though. They used to play the goats track, whatever it was almost every night at about 4AM. It would wake me up every time. I haven't heard it in a while. The somafm space channel has too much reverb, of course, all my tracks have too much reverb as well, but, I expect other people to be more skilled than I am, heh!
I'll try the chillout station, I mostly listen to house on DI.fm. If I like it, I might renew my subscription.
Deepmix.ru isn't really an ambient station, but they do often play ambient stuff on sundays or late at night. I think that some of them are live, I don't know really.

Stillstream is great. When I lived in TN there was a local program called "Into The Deep" which played some great ambient. I believe it's still around and you can listen online as well. - https://www.facebook.com/Into-the-Deep-108631969164684/
