Hi, we're building a vocal synth too! Here are a few early previews https://soundcloud.com/emvoice/popflier wrote: Actually, I would absolutely be interested in a vocal synthesizer. I love Benny Benassi and that's pretty much all he uses. I have programs like Balabolka and have exported phrases and used them in tracks. I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Let me know when it's done. I'd love to check it out.
We hope to release it (public beta) in about 6 months. We're looking for vocal producers to record new voices btw, PM me if interested.
Express Yourself.

I use these guys https://studiopros.com/. They have a decent range of vocalists. Just send the backing tracks online and they do all the rest. Then you just have to mix yourself
The way I see it, if you advertise for singers in your hometown, you probably wont find any with studio experience (even though they'll say they have) which means it will take longer to record, which means xtra $$$ of studio time + there's a good chance they wont be very good. A studio costs around $70 an hour (aud), the lowest rate vocalists charge is $100 an hour, times that by about 2 or 3. If it's original material it will always take longer. Studiopros charge $150 total.
If you're doing the studio route then you need to take with you a bunch of songs rather than one to get value for money, but then you're stuck with one singer on all of them. You should only consider going studio if you can get a package deal..ie the engineer will record and mix. Many of them do this. And yes, you need to do your vocals in a studio otherwise it'll sound crap
