Introduced back in 1988, the Korg M1 is probably most famous for the "M1 Piano" sound (and the Universe Pad) I have managed to sample this, and its all yours, free. If you want that classic "house piano" sound then this is the sample set for you
(this prob wont appeal to piano purists, as its not a realist piano by a long shot)
Sampled From C0 thru F#7, at 24/96 Mono, and edited by hand (not looped, natural decay, no FX)
You can download the RAR containig all the wavs HERE (20meg)

20 meg for the m1 piano? That's about 10 times larger than entire m1 rom set!
I suppose I'd rather take the memory hit than spend any time editing it down further - or just use my trusty Korg N364.
Good work for posting it though, it's just funny how an 8meg S1000 used to be something to aspire to...

OK, just downloaded, and it does seem f**ked for some reason, so im uploading again, sorry about that(my connection has been a bit wierd tonight) In the mean time, here are 3 cheesy examples of what it sounds like, with a bit of old skool reverb only.

Nice one, Krim.
As far as comparisons to the original ROM size go, of course KORG used looped samples, probably very short ones even, probably using some proprietary compression algorhythm as well.
But you can't just sample those as it won't take the playback engine of the M1 into account - whether that is a good or bad thing is beyond the point.
Maybe I'll try to do some shorter looped version one day. Don't expect it during the next 4 weeks though as I won't be able to upload anything anywhere (touring around...).

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
