If this company is US based, why not alert the proper authorities and get them shut down? If they are selling loops of material that is obviously breaking copyright laws, they should be dealt with.

In fact, why not alert the owners of the copywritten material as well - perhaps they could then legally do something about it.

Thanks for the heads up.

They are from Sweden! So, I have not idea what to do. The only thing I know to do at this time is warn as many people as possible, so they don't fall into the same trap. It's complete bullshit.

I see almost 1000 people haved viewed this thread. It's a start right? KVR has a strong fan base. Not just newbies, but established producers, developers, etc. Enough people will see this and seek out other alternatives. This is what the internet is good for right?

Besides, with what they doing I don't really expect them to be around very long. I'm sure they have taken enough people's money to make it lucrative enought to get out quick if needed.

I don't know if I stated this before but, I looked up their name on internet and found that their stuff came up on "other" websites, if you know what I mean. I am not into that, so I thought that I was being a good person. I pay for what I use.

I guess I learned a lesson. Not to download other peoples property, but that if somebody out there hates them enough to post their downloads over the net, and no other distributers are selling their product, then that should have been a sign.

Bump! This one should be a sticky.

About Sonart, I have seen a lot of bad feedback from "their" sampled pianos. The lack of any demos of their so called loop libraries intrigued me also, NOW I know why :D

Heck, I even think their name is stolen too http://www.sonart.es/.

After I bought their "Yearly Subscription" I started to get massive amounts of spam in my mailbox. I mean everything from Sex Toys to online Pharmacies. I'm pissed also because I've had this email for a while and I have to delete at least 30 or so messages a day!

One google search will reveal that most of their stuff is available for free on certain websites, but being the honest person I am I bought their product.

Their stuff is so useless that if I had downloaded it for free...I WOULD STILL BE PISSED OFF!

Make a sticky I say!

I bought in emergency the "alarm sounds pack", or whatever it was called for a project a customer and I were working on. a few hundreds meg. once you realise that there is actually only ONE crappy sample of a lfo driven oscillator, at a few different pitch/BPM, copied in various formats in various folders, trust me, you would be pissed too... I would love to kick them in the balls with heavy duty shoes.
It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

So, not Sonart?

:hihi:
I've got nothing to sell...am I on the right site?

I believe that this is actually the same company that used to be coloursonics. It was alleged that the samples they were giving away (in exchange for demo tracks using the material) were copyrighted to other companies and the thread about that was removed a while ago by the mods.

FWIW, I know that the bass box download was identical to some of the material in the coloursonics package.

All long gone from my drive, as the samples were pretty blah to begin with.

Yes, your right...

I purchased Coloursonics "Bass Massiva" some time ago. I was dissapointed with that.

I opened one of my "new" Sonart sound libraries and looked at the Kontakt Instruments.

They were the exact same Instruments, in the same order, with the exact same names, as the Coloursoncis "Bass Massiva".

So yes dven I see your point.

Like I've already state, this is what they do, they take crappy material, and repackage it over and over and over and over again under different names.

THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THEM IS THERE WEBSITE!

They have some interesting graphics on. Check out Elektro Bass if your bored. Could be good as a wallpaper! You will know what I mean when you see it. Here is a link anyway.

I just wanted to add that almost 1600 people have seen this thread. That makes me very proud of KVR.

I feel like I have prevented 1600 people from loosing their hard earned money.

KVR is dope!

I'll admit, I was taken in by Sonart. Cheap price, slick "packaging." I only bought one of their "products" - the IDM one I think. I wasn't aware that the content, such as it is, was basically lifted from Beatport - I just knew it to be absolute crap. To be honest I sort of wrote if off in my mind as a semi-bad investment and hadn't thought of it until I saw your post. But yeah, the content of what I bought was just a few sounds recycled in a bunch of ways that amounted to a lot of nothing.

Damn...some people always have a way of saying what I'm trying to say in simpler way. Good one! Thanks.

lol.... this is the way that a lot of sample CD companies work - i was going thru an XXL CD a few years ago and stumbled upon 5-6 loops from a remix i had worked on! i had to laugh...

most sample CD's are pretty mediocre anyways. i have heard a couple of the Sonart ones and they are pretty uninspiring.

I'll give this topic a quick re-bump. Just to keep the word out there.

I also put a write up on my blog, though I'm not sure that amounts to much.

But, yeah, they're still online and selling "libraries."

Do not be fooled.
