Major OCD today.

The Moog Polymoog Keyboard Vox Humana preset made famous by Gary Numan on the hitsingle Cars. It's all over his album Pleasure Principle.

Other noticable Polymoog users were of course Kraftwerk. It's all over the Computer World album.

This preset is sampled chromatically all over the Polymoogs key range. All samples are looped. The loops are really long to preserve as much of the original character as possible. This makes for a really big sampleset. It's 55 mb packed and 148 mb unpacked. I had to split it in parts because box.net does'nt allow files bigger than 10 mb on the free account. So DL all Polumoog.rar files and unpack them.

Some samples had a weird attack and the volume between differs quite a bit. I could have fixed that and normalized the files. I choose not to. Again to keep as much of the original character as possible.

They are mapped for ShortCircuit 1 but the samples themselves can be used in any sampler.

I might do an economy version of this some day but now i'm quite knackered. :D

Big thanks to suitandtieguy who made this recording in the first place.

In case you missed my Orchestron samples they're in that folder as well.

Well done on doing all that work - i will download later. The only sad thing is that the original sample poster didn't use the direct outs on the Polymoog - an essential for the true Gary Numan sound.

Hmmm 80 odd views and not a single download. That's a bit depressing. For comparison the Orchestron samples have been downloaded 54 times.

Don't let the slightly negative comments scare you. I have very high standards when it comes to sampling and looping. These are very high standard samples. Much more so than the Orchestron set i might add. The loop points (should you ever reach them. The loops are very long like 8 seconds or so) are pretty much inaudible. There were some slight weirdness (attacks, volume) that i thought i should mention but they're hardly noticable. As i said i have very high standards when it comes to these things. That's why i mentioned them.

So constructive critisism time. Some suggestions to get you going:
Q1. Split into 6 different downloads ? You're must be joking,no ?

A1. True that's a slight hassle but i had to pay for hosting otherwise which is a big nono. If someone has a tip for alternative hosting i'm all ears.

Q2. They're like farking large. 55 Mb dl FFS.

A2. True that. I have a pretty hefty internet connection (like 100 Mb/sec or so) that not all have. However just DL in the background and surf some porn or something. It's not like you have to wait idle during dl.

Q3. Mapping these is so going to be a bitch. There's like 80 samples.

A3. They're already mapped for SC1. It takes like 5 seconds to map them in Kontakt. If not,you suck. Can't speak of other samplers as i have'nt used them.

Q4. 148 Mb RAM for a single preset ? Are you kidding me mofo?

A4. If you're using a sampler with Disk Streaming that won't matter much. I admit it's a bit on the heavy side for one preset. I do plan on economy versions of this with one sample for 2 and 4 keys and possibly shorter loops.
It's a lot of work relooping them but i could easily half (or even more) the loop lengths without any real damage. I just thought people might be interested in real high quality sounds as close to the original as possible.
You could of course remap them yourself. You could easily cut this in half or a quarter.

Q5. Keep your panties on assclown. Rome was'nt like built in a week turdboy. Study some f**kin history.

A5.

Anything else ?

im sure i downloaded them yesterday so perhaps its misreported the downloads ... thanks for the time and effort :)

i havent listened to them yet, and i do have the g-force string machine which has poly moog samples .... but i guess i have OCD too and have to collect all available samples :)

For real ? That's weird. Here's how it looks on my part:

Maybe a lot of people have downloaded it and i'm bitching about nothing. :hihi:

I think places like zshare and badongo allow larger files for free... but I could be wrong..

New DL location. It's the whole deal in one package. No split files. If zShare is teh suck or not i don't know. You tell me.

thats how I usually prefer to download in small parcels. If a download is not too good then the smaller is allways the better than the bigger ones.

anyway, I will give them a try when I can, thanks :D

ok, now you convinced me ; )

thanks

For that true variance in sound you need lots of samples. i think 55MB is small for this sound.

yeah, but thats the size compressed, the actual size is 3 times that.

OK then, i think 143MB for this sound is small :hihi: (i know someone who has sampled his Poly at 24bit 44.1k for every note for two minutes, to avoid looping problems - that's quite a big file).

Thanks for this btw, you should be registering another download.

i dont think it was original character, i think it was bad sampling...i wont be DL.

not even to prove how right you are?

you can be such a churl...

Don't listen to them! Thank you for doing this. I will check them out tonight.
