Has anyone calculated how long it will take to audition, let alone actually use, all of those sample libraries? Does it exceed a human lifetime?
My music is a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called "Junk"

Difficult to say. But one thing is almost sure -- a person who wants to audition all of the available titles is unlikely to experience boredom during his or her lifetime.

For a composer, it is actually like an inexhaustible source of inspiration...

How about separating one-shots and loops and actual sampler instruments?
Having 8dio (et al.) in a list with with loop libraries is a bit ... you know.
"Not the same thing".

Where? Even the "ordering information", once found, is a dead link.
I don't work here, I just feed the trolls.
My sales thread @ Market Place
My website with lots of free stuff:
Sampled drums and instruments | Clipping plugin | Shure SRH840 EQ correction presets | SFZ syntax mode for Coda2

My criteria for inclusion are simple: If it has one-shot samples (not only loops), it may be included. It doesn't matter what the format is, as long as it is widely supported. It can be a VSTi plugin, an AKAI CD-ROM, whatever.

I see no good reason to separate by format if I have software that can play or convert all of the formats.

The only thing I avoid is loop-only stuff.

Added www.chineekong.com.

Twolegs Toneworks doesn't seem to meet my criteria (simple super-short analog waveforms only and chords, which are not real single shots, but pre-composed music -- I might be wrong though, didn't listen to them).

Thanks.
