So... Anyone up for hosting the ~600MB Open Source Drumkit? I can compile a bundle with the samples, SFZ's and documentation. :)

Post

Trying to upload them all to Skydrive. Will provide a link once it's done. :)

Thats great! Do you have the patched version and the latest mappings for the OSDrumkit?

If not:
Patch here:

Latest version of my SFZ Mappings here:

A more permanent solution would probably be in order in the long run..

The only SFZ ones I've got for the OSKit are the Hi Hat and Kick. Will check out the ones you posted though. :D

I couldn't agree more. Most of these litigious companies have a lawyer who spends pretty much 100% of their time sending out emails, letters, faxes, etc. just to scare people into changing company names, product names, domain names, etc. and they probably save their company almost nothing is supposed lost business.

About 10 years ago I worked for a startup company who received exactly this kind of shit from a multinational company who accused them of infringing upon their copyrighted name. Now the MD had his sister (who is lawyer) working for the company part time so he took the letters and faxes to her and the first thing she did was laughed. Her advice was to take every single piece of correspondence, put it in a file and forget about it. She said at least 90% of these threats never amount to anything more as companies don't want the bad press or the legal expense. True enough, after a few months they stopped and were never heard from again.

Your hosting company is indeed a bunch of spineless c**ts.

Please do! I used quite a lot of time on them. :) Remember that you will need to replace the "Lo Tom" samples with the ones in the patch for them to work properly. See readme for info on how to use them. :)

Will do! :D

Well, here you go. Let me know if you have any problems. Still kind of new to sharing files on Sky Drive.

EDIT: Um... okay... for some reason, anything after a "!" becomes unclickable. :/ weird. I guess just select-copy-paste it instead. :?

Hey everyone.

Just so you all know, nothing on the real music media site is gone. I simply changed the domain name to johngumpwebdesign.com (I bought the domain 6 months ago, and haven't put together a corresponding site as of yet). I feel safe using that name for the time being because no one can threaten to sue me over my own name (I think).

The osdrumkit site is still up, and all of the other samples are still available.

If anyone wants to buy a domain name for the real music media site or any part of it, I would be happy to redirect the domains to the appropriate directories. I have spent so much money on this over the years that I simply don't want to spend any more at this point.

In any case, the samples/forum are still available at these links, and will be until I finish the official john gump web design in the upcoming months:

Thanks for the kit, never tested it, hence the lack of mapping. Downloading now.

See my post above for mappings and a patch. They have been around since the kit was rereleased as OSDrumkit

Now if someone could offer to host this permanently, we could get rid of the patch that fixes the sample name problems, and bundle the mappings with the samples. Would make it a whole lot easier for everybody interested to get started.
