This was supposed to be a combo transistor organ with onboard rhythms, but before we could sample the keyboard sounds it died on us. There was smoke and everything :-o So... all we've got is the drum sounds, and rather than trash them we're giving them away free in the form of a little Kontakt instrument :)

They're probably not going to set the world on fire, but they're fun and have a retro transistor-combo-organ kind of charm to them. The rhythms are syncable and combinable, and there are a handful of round-robined drum hits to play with.

So if you feel the need for a bit of Foxtrott (sic) or Walzer in your life, head on over to

http://www.rhythmicrobot.com

...and drop us a note from the Contact Us page with JACKY as its subject title, and we'll bung you a download link. The instrument is Kontakt-based, and will work in Kontakt 4.2.3 and later.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Best wishes,

The Professor (and Mongo)

PS - We send out the download links manually, so please be patient. If it takes a while to come through, we're probably asleep, or down the pub, or something, but we'll get there eventually :D

Bummer this died on you but thanks for making the samples you did make available.

I've got a bunch of samples in AKAI format we made of a dying organ that makes wonderful whining, hissing noises just by pulling out the drawbars and not even playing the keys. Works great in heavy music playing the looped samples in place of an actual organ.

We've been quite lucky about second-hand kit not up and dying on us so far. Jacky's the first DNR casualty. Before this, the most surprising thing to happen was the Mirage, which had a crackly on-off switch. I sprayed a shot of Servisol in there, and a really surprised-looking stink bug came running out of the disk drive slot.

Most of our kit doesn't have wildlife living in it, though, and is... um... bug free
