Hi,

We have a number of FREE instruments on Sampleism at the moment.

JD-850
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKSeaxoca4c

This demo instrument contains 90MB of content from the forthcoming JD-850 library. The library will be released in the next few weeks by CL Projects.

By the way, check out CL-Projects profile for their other incredible Kontakt builds (Virologic and Pad Factory)

https://soundcloud.com/cl-projects/cl-p ... 850-demo-1

Get ready to immerse yourself into the massive sounds of one of the most iconic and legendary synthesizers from the nineties in a Kontakt instrument.
Contains inspiring arpeggios, lush pads, fat basses, screaming leads and pearcing synth sounds in any combination. Sampled in 44.100 Hz 24 Bit stereo for a very clear sound. The sounds are re-created in Kontakt with the help of the kontakt effects, filters and modulators. And with the addition of an arpeggiator, even more sound possibilities are available.

Library features:

- For Kontakt 5.1 and up
- 24bit 44.100 Khz ncw samples
- 24 samples per instrument, 2 layers, 12 per layer, (2 per octave), for a total of +/- 6 octave range (76 notes)
- Velocity and Aftertouch responsive
- 8 Effects: Digital Reverb, Digital Delay, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Distortion, 3-Band EQ and a Stereo Modeler
- Time and Speed parameters sync to Host tempo (LFO, Delay, Chorus, Flanger and Phaser)
- Arpeggiator & Effects page
- Master Controls page
- 3-Band EQ & Stereo Modeler page

Ethereal

This demo instrument contains 60MB of content (4 patches) from Subsonic Arts' upcoming library ETHEREAL.
The library is working with the full version of Kontakt 5.3. It'll be released at the end of February 2014.
In this unique Library, you'll find more than 100 patches (instruments and multis) made to evoke feelings pure love, sadness, fear, joy and above all of Mystic Revelations.

https://soundcloud.com/sonicart-1/sets/ ... or-kontakt

Get ready to enter the world of the unseen, the world of enlighted beings, the world of spirit and meditation. Each patch has it's own unique atmosphere and GUI with it's own picture illustrating/matching the sounds (samples are in 44.100 Hz 24 Bit stereo).

The Library will have 6 folders (of different ambiences with pads, voices, fx and soudscapes): Atmospheric, Dark & Eerie, Ethereal voices, Mystical, Nature's call, Science fiction.

Looks like JD-850 has been released now:

The demo sounds awesome, but I'm let down by the pricing, £30 is pretty much, I was hoping it to be around £20 maybe with an intro price at £15...

Think I will wait around for one of those Samplism sale to score this with a rebate

Hi,

Yes - JD-850 has been released. CL-Projects spent many months working on this and they feel the price is fair. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way. There may be a sale in the future but currently we don't have any plans for one.

On another note, Ethereal has also been released.

We are planning on creating a few more demos and videos before making any big announcements so hopefully you'll see them soon.

Here's one I quickly made for JD-850 although I'm rather embarrased of my keyboard playing skills :(

I'm assuming the Roland samples (and intellectual property) that have been sampled have been cleared by Roland or permission granted or a license fee paid? If not, I hope you don't get an email from their legal rotweillers with a C&D order. They don't take prisoners and if they get wind of this ...

Just saying.

Yeah, the quality of demo is great, and no doubt CL Project deserve to get paid for his work :)

But $50 is a bit of money, I'm not sure how much I will use this, I already got some libs related to this, for example the Deepflight lib from Pink Noise Studio (that is based on the D50)

When indulging myself my gut feeling is that I shouldn't spend more than $20-25  Above that I need to think a bit about what I already got, and if I'm already sorted for such a lib/plug ;)

Here's another new video demo using sounds from JD-850 and Ethereal.

I love all Roland sounds but I agree that the price is a bit high. Also, what about Hollow Sun post? Is it a "legit" library?
Give me samples. More samples!

I'm more concerned that I have to log in with Facebook to demo it. Can't I just register on your site and download? As soon as I see the message "so and so wants access to all your friends and contacts" I am put off as I really don't want my friends to be spammed. I realise that we live on a world where we're all commodities to be sold but I really don't see why you need access to my friends who have no interest in music technology and will not be buying any sample library, ever.

Don't have to be Facebook, I log on with my Google account .

I wish more dev's would do it like that, so I don't have to open a new account for every vendor I visit.

What about this one?

The Vinyl Toolkit is a collection of 200 one-shot drum samples taken from vinyl records from various eras, chopped and sliced with love to be production-ready.

i have bought the jd-850 library because i always wanted to have a virtual jd-800. what can i say: i think it is great. it comes with a wealth of presets. you get all those sounds that you would associate with the jd-800. airy strings, vox pads in the vain of the fairlight vox samples, blown bottle sounds and so forth. you get a very nice gui, arpeggiator, fx section and a good and comprehensive manual. for me the quality is on par with the synth magic and hollow sun offerings and based on the quality of the product the price is absolutely justified. i'm in no way affiliated with cl-projects, i'm just happy that i bought the product (before roland becomes aware of it).
cheers

Hi,

To answer some concerns over the sampled sounds. CL-Projects took the time to sample sounds created on the synth, including his own synthesized sounds and presets. The actual ROMS have not been sampled so there is nothing to worry about.

As for the login issue. We are currently working on a new login system that will allow you to log in using a standard email and password combo. I understand completely why some people don't like using social networks, especially in this new 'big brother' world we all seem to be living in at the moment. In the meantime, if anybody wants to download the free demo - just PM me and I'll help you out.

Futile argument.

Two wrongs don't make it right. Just because someone has parked their car illegally doesn't mean you can do the same. Well, you can but you may get a parking ticket too.

Copyright has to be respected (and protected).

I'm not trying to be an arse here - just respecting intellectual property and alerting to the fact that Roland are very intolerant (zero intolerance) to this kind of thing.

Totally irrelevant. You have sampled copyrighted recordings/samples and are exploiting their IP.

So what ... are you planning to sample, say, Garritans' stuff or VSL or, shall we say, my stuff and pass it off as your own.

All much the same thing.

So the JD might be discontinued now but the samples Roland created/used are still the copyright/IP of Roland.

I am not knocking your product (it sounds good) but there could be be complications. Technically, if you've not sought and gained permission or licensed the samples of the samples, there could be some bother because, technically, it's illegal! And Roland can be buggers and intransigent.

Sorry.

Technically, it's a grey area (sampling the custom patches done on a rompler), it's not totally illegal. Different companies have different stances on this. Korg doesn't mind, for example. Roland, they C&D'd that Reaktor library that used raw D-50 ROM samples - which is fair enough. But they didn't do anything when Persing released Omnisphere, which contains JD patches in it, as well. Now this might be because Persing worked for them for some time, but still. Kinda double standard there. In any case IIRC this is not the only JD (or D-50) Kontakt lib out there, Roland did not move a finger regarding their existence...
