SampleRobot 4 Single-X BE is included on the cover disc of the new Beat issue, out any day now:

I wonder what the Beat version restrictions are, as the full version already is a cut down version of Sample Robot 4:

"SampleRobot 4 Single-X is a basic version of the well-known sampling software. SampleRobot Single-X (single export) supports only one multi-sample export format which can be freely selected when purchasing the application."

Got it in the mail today. It is the Single-X version that exports to SFZ format which can be read e.g. by Zampler (or many other samplers). The BEAT "limitation" seems to be an included BEAT logo in the GUI. At least this is what the included changelog says. So I would guess that it is the same as the commercial Single-X SFZ version.

The "premium instruments" package download (800MB SF2) is also not included...

The MAC version is basicaly the Windows version + CrossOver/Wine. This one also includes a version of Awave Studio.

Update: when starting the program it tells us the limitations:
- premium multi-samples in SF2 format are not included
- the note's record length is limited to 6 seconds
- export is only possible in mono

Hmm...that is quite limiting...mono only?!

But for 59 EURO one can upgrade to the commercial Multi-X version that exports all formats. Hmmm...let me think about it...

Would be good to have stereo, but I believe mono in this case doesn't mean that there will be sound in only the left and not the right speaker, it means that sound will be the same from left to right (or right to left for that matter), no stereophonic variations possible.

But I guess one can make a multi "stereo" patch, adding a couple of the same mono patch, in for example TX16Wx and then positioning the various mono patches in the stereo field as preferred.

Finally got around to installing the file I got from Beat mag.

Kind of weird in the data/audio folder to find a file called "Music from TEAM AIR"

Did they help crack it, hope Beat ship out legal versions? :?
