Looking to add to my live shows with a sampler. What I'd need is essentially a sampler that would be able to play just sometime 3 minute long samples, ( ambience etc) or sometimes to just use as a filler for certain breakdowns and stuff like that. I've included a sample of my music to get an idea for I'm looking for. https://soundcloud.com/timezombie/so-are-you-ft-maria-z

the samplers that Ive looked into so far have been :
Akai LPD8
Akai MPX8
and
AKAI MPD26

any help would be greatly appreciated.

LPD8 and MPD26 ain't samplers.
The hint is in the PD ;)

I'd be looking for a Boss SP202

Well yes of course. But you'll need a software sampler as well then.

What software/DAW are you currently using?

the mpx8 is the only one of these, that will work without your laptop as it's a real sampler/sample-player.
as mentioned before mpd26 and lpd8 are midi-controllers that need to be connected to your laptop. though the mpd26 could also be connected to a hardware-sampler via midi...

Thank you all for the answers
Ill be getting the mpx8

How are you liking it so far? I had looked at the MPX8 a few times, but mediocre reviews at Thomann discouraged me.

Steinberg Groove Agent 4 is the one you want.
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM
