Here is my collection of hole saws sampled with and Rhodes and Sennheiser mics.
There are 4 brands of bell,
and a wooden and steel stick for each
Free to use for yous 8D
They are nice IMO- for Forest Swords style personally,
just one-shot wavs, they are not multi-sampled.
Cheers
edit 8/16
I am tidying my fileshare, so I packed them more neatly into one .zip->

You mean this?
Thank you. I would never think of it and, now I see, I would want to.

Yep, that's the animal,
you're welcome!
This time they are not attached to an arbour(mount thingy),
they are hanging on strings.
I'm thinking about using my Rhode mic,
and dropping a bottle top on them in another round of takes.
The samples are all roughly 2 secs,
if you need exactly 2 secs-
I recommend Sony Acid to get the all a perfect length.
Nice that you feel it is a good idea,
the biggest ones sound best and being unused helps too
(they become dull),
if you are thinking of finding some
edit- I thought of it in 2001, when I was experimenting with found sound-
I made a drum kit out of odds and ends.
Another interesting one I found was using boxes of nails for snares

I think you've just got me covered in hole saw percussion area. (grabbing some popcorn and waiting for Robojam to come and quote me out of context)nix808 wrote:being unused helps too

The sets are sure to come in handy. It's the stringing 'em up that's impressed me.
Thanks nix.

Welcome, ur welcome!
I feel good about this,
thanks for the replies 8D.
If you have a taste for these short plinky percs,
I upped the original samples(take in '01) in the first post.
There are no duplicates between the .rars,
there are 60 different sounds.
The 2014 folder references the cut, not the take.
There are a couple of variations, ie. creative fx-
showing some possibilities also.
I will process them in Acid today so the 2014 picks are exactly 2 sec
Hope you find a use for them,
if you do- I would like to hear the piece if you want to share it
stringing them works fine for sampling, but not for playing coz they swing everywhere
edit- oh yeah_>just wanted to mention pitching all of these down, it sounds stellar by a couple of octaves

very nice and thanks - In case you or others are not using this technique, for pitching down I always sample at 96kHz now and then change the sample rate (in Audition) to 48 or 44 or... but by sampling faster initially you still keep a high bandwidth after dropping pitch.nix808 wrote:Welcome, ur welcome!

there will be 96k on the bottle top drop-
ty for the hint
I will look into resampling the older to a specific length
This sampleset has got me thinking about bells/chimes/steel keys--
I will post in DIY as soon as I have a 2 octave array

I recorded a bottle cap dropped onto 9 of the tubes,
with a Rode NT2a
--available in the first post
The material is here for an intricate stem without many humanising tricks
If you edit this stuff, please share it in this thread if you like.
Sorry-I forgot to use 96k
I'm happy my Rode is working in 2/3 modes, where I thought only 1 was working.
Now a serious sampling attempt-
my beautiful Sanjay Rikki Ram sitar

Heh. I misread the Subject as "70s hole saw hits" and thought "Hey, a whole genre of music that passed me by..."Zombie Queen wrote:(grabbing some popcorn and waiting for Robojam to come and quote me out of context)
