Hi,
I'm pretty excited to start revealing some information regarding a new synth coming soon. The Pentagon combines sounds from 5 different synthesizers and builds them into a unique interface to give complete control .
The Pentagon represents next-generation Kontakt design and features many new innovations and concepts never seen before in a Kontakt instrument. We truly feel like we have pushed Kontakt to the limit and explored nearly everything it has to offer. With intelligent scripting and design we have managed to make an instrument that can be used to synthesise and manipulate any sound while keeping all controls on one page.
The Pentagon is full of warm and rich sounds that have a distinct analogue flavour and it also features a few innovations that really give this synth a very deep sense of sound exploration and depth....
KEY FX
Key FX is a unique, never seen before performance tool that has been developed specifically for The Pentagon. It allows you to morph between two definable settings with variable time-scales at the touch of a key.
All settings are transmitted to the Kontakt engine in real time which will give the morph effect a truly alive and analogue sound.
AUTOMATION TABLES
The Pentagon has an inbuilt arpeggiator that goes a little deeper than most other arps. It has a total of 11 arpeggiators - the first is used to control the main rhythmic pattern and the next 10 can be freely assigned to any control. The results are outstanding. There are also 100 different presets to choose from for each table and a batch of editing controls to tweak the shape and style of the table
RANDOMISATION
We wanted to make a randomisation system that was flexible, easy-to-use and gave great results so we spent many weeks writing algorithms to achieve this. In total there are 46 different ways to randomise your patches. You can simply randomise everything (this gives very interesting results) or you can select to just randomise a certain set of controls or parameters. I've been testing this out recently and I'm pretty amazed at how easy it is to subtly change sounds by being selective about which areas are randomised.
There are many more powerful features in this synth so, pretty soon, we will put the user manual online for you to check out.
Anyway - sorry for the wall of text - The pentagon will be released (hopefully) in the next 2 weeks but we have create a few video that you can watch below:

looks and sounds awesome! I'm very much interested. any ETA?
...also, didn't see CPU meter in the Live example...what sort of CPU hit on average does The Pentagon pull?

We are aiming for a release within 2 weeks all going to plan.blortblort wrote:looks and sounds awesome! I'm very much interested. any ETA?

I've taken a screenshot from the 3rd video where we are running 3 instances of Kontakt each running The Pentagon and a few eq and limiting plugs and the CPU usage is around 30% to 40% so it's pretty good for me:
It's the little DSP indicator at the top left that shows current load.
That's running on an i5-3570K CPU and 8GB RAM - pretty average by todays modern DAW standards.

We are still debating, but we will probably have an intro offer of about £25 GBP. Does that seem fair to you guys? We've spent literally 6 months working on this nearly every day.Numanoid wrote:So, how much will it cost?

Thanks Kaneda! that is really efficient considering all that is going on.
regarding the cost £25 seems fair, but £20 would definitely get me to break my forced moratorium on purchases (moving residence is expensive ;P)

Cheers - I've just done a quick test in standalone mode - It's a multi containing 3 patches - hardly touched the CPU as you can see below:blortblort wrote:Thanks Kaneda! that is really efficient considering all that is going on.

Yeah - moving residence is very costly and disruptive.
