I'm looking for a sample library / instrument that uses samples or loops alongside some scripting to achieve an effect similar to what is done a lot of these fancy new guitar instruments and string sets : the strum patterns and the string runs, but for bass.

Maybe a arpeggiator? There not just for EDM.
I quite like the results I get with Ample Sounds P bass and Logic Pro x stock one.

In case anyone's interested (doubtful but neverthless), I went ahead and bought Paragon.
A good bread and butter bass gtr vsti that apparently uses a combination of samples and modeling...they actually sound pretty good in mix if its programmed well. the patterns are limited but you can quickly make your own and drag n drop to the daw.
still has a long way to go, but a good start for relatively newer company.
