I beginning to realize the potential of 3rd party instruments designed for Kontakt (and I'm sure other samplers). I had no idea they could do so much within this framework! Can anyone recommend good Kontakt instruments that lend themselves to unusual sounds and creative experimentation?

Some of the Hollow Sun instruments sound amazing to me as well as some of Cinematique Instruments instruments. I use Glitchmachines and granular stuff a lot in my music.

Third to recommend Rhytmic Robot, also Sound Dust. If you can overlook shameless self promotion, I also made some experimental machines for Kontakt.

I know this is specifically about Kontakt (and I heartily recommend RR and Hollow Sun) but it's also worth stating that the type of weirdness in a lot of these instruments is very similar to what's available in Reaktor. The difference being that you'll find hundreds of intensely weird ensembles to download free.
