Axon 100 trigger a Korg NS5r

Hello, I have an AXON 100 guitar synth, trying to trigger the Korg unit. I thought I could just plug the Midi out of the Axon to the Midi in of the Korg, but I just get the Axons internal sounds coming out of the Korg. I've read the Axon manual till Im blue trying to figure out how to make it happy.
When I flip around the Korg settings, same deal, havent figured how to get it to trigger from the Axon. Any help will be hugely appreciated!
