I use www.offliberty.com to download just the audio, or the entire video...

This seems like the best solution for Mac. Having to download the whole file just to sample a snippet is kind of an annoyance. Is there anything equivalent for Windows?padillac wrote:I used to use Rogue Ameoba Audio Hijack - very nice, it'll hijack audio and record it.
Nowadays I greatly prefer their Loopback program. It works like Hijack, but creates virtual audio interfaces instead of recording. This lets you sample straight from YouTube (or any other program) into your DAW or audio editor. I'm a big fan.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

My tip if you want to just take out a snippet is www.rahndre.com (http://www.rahndre.com) or dirpy. Just set what time span of the clip you want and download. www.rahndre.com (http://www.rahndre.com) is ad free but dirpys adds aren't that confusing when you know them.deastman wrote:This seems like the best solution for Mac. I use something called 'MacX Youtube Downloader'. Recent versions work quite fast on my system. I kind of hate browser extensions, complicates matters.
