On the off chance that people may find this useful in some way...

I've sampled my Washburn KCV something or other (sticker came off the neck years ago) electric guitar so I can play it with my err 'You Rock' midi guitar. I've been using the TX16wx because for some reason I can actually understand it! A quick word about the geetar before going on to the samples. This is a 90s 'superstrat' metel looking thing. Really though, with that bridge pickup it only ever wanted to be a poor man's telecaster :hihi: . I've had it for 20 years and it's my favourite guitar I've ever had. I utterly detest new strings and I think the ones on this have been on 9 years now (not really selling this well donkey..) and I love the tone of it. Your mileage may vary...if you like the jangling/indie, slightly rough round the edges sound (as I do) then maybe you'll like this. I've done the neck pickup for now (ignore the name of the samples..I'm stupid), and there's two versions; a nice one and one with the original warts and all samples before I edited them, which has, shall we say, a bit more character..

I've managed to shoehorn in some round robins and velocity layers, and below there's a little demo for each of me poorly playing the patches, firstly through the SoftAMP FM25 vst guitar amp sim (marvellous Fender style beast), then the same thing afterwards with the the direct sound. All seems to work as expected when I've played them. I've not done any mutes etc, but might go back to those later, along with the bridge pickup (the other pickup settings are rubbish..). The 'clean' one is 30 meg and the unedited version is around 40, which zipped up it's a 45 meg download in total.

There's also patches of my beat up encore acoustic guitar here, and another little demo;

Hey don,

I did an sfz version of your encore acoustic. It''s not 100% finished. I haven't redone all the loops -- only the ones that needed it most. And I still need to do more processing on the highest octave to tame some ringing, and add longer sustain. But here's what I have so far. If you and others like it, I'll finish the work.

Sounds really good, definitely worth finishing! See what you can do with the rattly string. I probably should put some new ones on..and have another go :hihi: A friend is lending me his fancy Takamine one in a bit so I'll also do some recording of that, which should hopefully sound good since it's a really nice guitar.

I finished the Encore steel string.

1) As much as possible, all buzzes, rattles, hiss, and other noise is gone.

2) All loops have been redone.

3) Sustain has been lengthened, and ringing reduced, especially for the upper register.

4) Holding down the soft pedal (CC # 67) causes notes to be played as hammer-on.

I added a Creative Commons license that allows people to use it in music-for-sale, if that's ok. I put "donkey tugger" as the licensee, but ideally you should put your legal name there.
