Yup. It works for sure! I gotz mine yesterday!

P&M are great plugs. I really enjoy using them. They sound great and are VERY easy to use.

But they are like potato chips. You'll get a great free plug, but you're going to want the whole set. ;-)

And how difficult is it to set up a facebook account or two or three? :D

So what is the difference in getting 40% off a product, like this offer:
http://www.kvraudio.com/news/uvi-offers ... e-12-26142

or to get a "personalized code" getting $149 off a $349 product?

It's more or less the same innit, just "clever" marketing

Well, yeah. But there's 45 plugs in the set. And they're GOOD plugs. Worth paying the ask for.

And, I suppose, it's worth adding that current owners of the set get the new ones for free. So the dev certainly does right by its paying customers.

The Dell deal on the Sony Movie Studio Suite (posted on the deals thread by GreyLion) is pretty sweet. The suite includes ACID and SoundForge, probably worth the 50 bucks just for those two...

The deal includes Sound Forge Audio Studio and Acid Music Studio not Sound Forge and Acid. The versions included are the entry level versions not the full versions. That's still a good deal but it's an important difference! ;)

Good point - thanks!

Hopefully someone can verify this for me before the 24 hour sale is over (uncle E?)

I used the Waves SoundShifter pitch in another studio and it was AWESOME! It looked like this: Image

However, the picture on JRRshop is this:

Image

Is it the same plugin, but updated or something?
Also, why is this one $430 http://plugindiscounts.com/home/6525-so ... ative.html
When waves says the retail price is $149?: http://www.waves.com/plugins/soundshifter

Very confused by the HUGE price differences. Are those two the same plugin as well? If so, I need to buy this! I remember it sounding better pitch shifting entire mixes in real time than any offline pitch shifting I could do in my DAW. Simply amazing!

Hopefully someone can clarify before the sale is over!

edit: Ok it seems that JRR has the wrong image up. The native version of soundshifter only comes with soundshifter pitch, and normally sells for $149. The $400+ version is the native version, which comes with additional plugins SoundShifter Graphic & Parametric support (AudioSuite only).

So this is a no-brainer deal and I'll be placing my order!

What is the difference between Waves Soundshifter and Melodyne? Both seems to be able to change the pitch. Since I have Melodyne Editor, if they do similar things, I probably don't need Soundshifter...

Hi LGK
Not sure to understand. The picture from JRR is identical to waves one.

Where do you see 2 different versions of soundshifter ?

Thnks

To each their own, but I also own melodyne and I've found the resulting sound in Melodyne to not be nearly as good as Soundshifter when pitch shifting complex material. Melodyne, for whatever reason, kills the highs in a signal where Soundshifter does not seem to. Also Melodyne is offline while soundshifter does it in real time. I still dont understand how a realtime plugin can process pitch better than an offline algorithm is beyond me, but somehow it does!

I know this gets confusing (thus my original post!) but here is what I've found. Waves Soundshifter has two versions, one for protools audiosuite which contains SoundShifter Graphic, SoundShifter Parametric, and SoundShifter Pitch (you can see the name of the plugin on the the bottom right of the GUI). The other is Soundshifter Native, which ONLY contains SoundShifter Pitch.

So since JRR is selling SoundShifter native, they are only selling soundshifter pitch, so the picture of SoundShifter Graphic they are using to advertise the product is incorrect, and users could potentially get mad that they did not get the plugin they thought they ordered judging on the picture.

It has 3 GUI's, based on which functions you're using:

It was $500 on Waves' site until a month or so ago, they dropped the price to $149 and now they've put it on sale for $29.

The $29 native version includes Parametric, Graphic, and Real-time components.

I do always appreciate having any issues pointed out to me before problems occur. In this case, I've confirmed everything with Waves' site. I can see how it's all confusing when it was $500 until just recently.
