And how difficult is it to set up a facebook account or two or three?BERFAB wrote:But they are like potato chips. You'll get a great free plug, but you're going to want the whole set.
Well, yeah. But there's 45 plugs in the set. And they're GOOD plugs. Worth paying the ask for.Numanoid wrote:And how difficult is it to set up a facebook account or two or three?BERFAB wrote:But they are like potato chips. You'll get a great free plug, but you're going to want the whole set.
The deal includes Sound Forge Audio Studio and Acid Music Studio not Sound Forge and Acid. The versions included are the entry level versions not the full versions. That's still a good deal but it's an important difference!nofrets wrote:The Dell deal on the Sony Movie Studio Suite (posted on the deals thread by GreyLion) is pretty sweet. The suite includes ACID and SoundForge, probably worth the 50 bucks just for those two...
To each their own, but I also own melodyne and I've found the resulting sound in Melodyne to not be nearly as good as Soundshifter when pitch shifting complex material. Melodyne, for whatever reason, kills the highs in a signal where Soundshifter does not seem to. Also Melodyne is offline while soundshifter does it in real time. I still dont understand how a realtime plugin can process pitch better than an offline algorithm is beyond me, but somehow it does!Ryan99 wrote:What is the difference between Waves Soundshifter and Melodyne? Both seems to be able to change the pitch. Since I have Melodyne Editor, if they do similar things, I probably don't need Soundshifter...
I know this gets confusing (thus my original post!) but here is what I've found. Waves Soundshifter has two versions, one for protools audiosuite which contains SoundShifter Graphic, SoundShifter Parametric, and SoundShifter Pitch (you can see the name of the plugin on the the bottom right of the GUI). The other is Soundshifter Native, which ONLY contains SoundShifter Pitch.yomanfree wrote:>edit: Ok it seems that JRR has the wrong image up. Hi LGK
Not sure to understand. The picture from JRR is identical to waves one.

Where do you see 2 different versions of soundshifter ?
Thnks
It has 3 GUI's, based on which functions you're using:LGK_Dude wrote:I used the Waves SoundShifter pitch in another studio and it was AWESOME! It looked like this:
It was $500 on Waves' site until a month or so ago, they dropped the price to $149 and now they've put it on sale for $29.Also, why is this one $430 http://plugindiscounts.com/home/6525-so ... ative.html
When waves says the retail price is $149?: http://www.waves.com/plugins/soundshifter
The $29 native version includes Parametric, Graphic, and Real-time components.edit: Ok it seems that JRR has the wrong image up. I do always appreciate having any issues pointed out to me before problems occur. In this case, I've confirmed everything with Waves' site. I can see how it's all confusing when it was $500 until just recently. So since JRR is selling SoundShifter native, they are only selling soundshifter pitch, so the picture of SoundShifter Graphic they are using to advertise the product is incorrect, and users could potentially get mad that they did not get the plugin they thought they ordered judging on the picture.
