Hi,

I need to split my MIDI keyboard, a sound on the left and a different sound on the right.

I see:

http://spot.river-styx.com/viewarticle.php?id=13

I have tried:
stephen@SONY ~ $ zynmidisplit &
[1] 5372
stephen@SONY ~ $ zynmidisplit: command not found

stephen@SONY ~ $ zynmidisplit
zynmidisplit: command not found
stephen@SONY ~ $

Where can I get this external application for MIDI Splitter, please? Or, is there another way to do with ZynAddSubFX that I have missed in the documentation?

m/R/M - set the last pressed note to the minimum(m)/maximum(M) or reset min/max defaults(R)

OK, that would work.

So, how do I define 2 instruments in ZynAddSubFX. I understand 1 instrument on 1 midi channel and the other on a 2nd midi channel, yes? If so, how is this achieved, please?

Thank you for your help.

You load one instrument in part 1, set MIDI Channel 1 for its input (select Chn1 from the dropdown list MIDI Chn. Rcv.), then press a key on your keyboard and hit M (for maximum) so that the left side of your keyboard only is selected and the notes above the key you've hit are ignored.

Then go to part 2, enable that part, load another instrument in part 2, set the input also to the same MIDI Channel 1 (you use the same keyboard for both instruments, so same midi channel is required), but this time press the key next to the key you've selected for instrument 1, and then hit 'm' for minimum so that instrument 2 is used for the right part of the keyboard.

Hope that makes sense.
