Hi,

We are interested in your feedback regarding the new sound processing possiblity introduced with the newest crusher-X Version. From a pure nonmusical point of view the change can be easily noticed if you do the following: Input a sine wave to the crusher and pitch up/down by using the offset fader in the speed section in the vapor modulations panel. Press the Aliasing button in the vapor panel to disable the pitch shift interpolation algorithm:

The sound turns immediately into an overtone rich, harsh sound with ring modulation artefacts. Note - we nether thought that this sound was "bad" - it was one of the reasons why the crusher sound is known as special. But for those purposes where high consistency in pitch shifting is required you can release the button and the interpolation/filtering stuff is put into gears. Development challenge was to ensure no intensive CPU stress in that mode, even if you run thousands of grains at the same time.

If you didn't buy or upgrade so far, you may be interested in downloading a demo of crusherX-Live! 6, crusherX-Studio! 4 or crusherX-Mac! 4 here to give it a try:
