June 21st, 2014,
I just made a new audio demo for the Memory Collection 05 - Sci-Fi and Aliens. For the occasion I also created a playlist that regroups the MC packs audio examples I have on Soundcloud. The new track is the first one, Alien Action.
All the sounds heard in all the audio demos are all samples from the Memory Collection Packs. They are from various Public Domain movies, documentaries, TV shows and TV ads.

April 25th, post edited for the release of the set
Aliens have been seen on their way to Earth. They have landed in the Memory Collection Pack 05
I prepared a demo of 120 samples to help you prepare Earth's defense, download it HERE.
The samples are from 10 Public Domain science fiction movies from the 1930s to the 1970s. So they cover different styles of soundtracks. I was surprised by the quality of the soundtracks in general. They featured early electronic music with a creative mix of various types of sound sources. Just listening to the samples is fun and it also is a lesson in the history and evolution of sound design in movies (IMHO).
The MC 05 pack is my larger one to date, it has 1,750 samples (1.44 GB). As the previous MC packs it is donationware with a minimum required donation of $20.
A bundle of the MC packs 01, 02, 03 and 05 is available for $50. Note that the MC pack 04 is not part of the bundle.

Do they like some coffee? I've made some coffee and offer some biscuits. After tea time they can rule the world, if they really want to...

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau was born (and died) in Berg/Germany, where I lived several months...but I've never heard him, because he had his residence in Berlin while I was in Berg...Meffy wrote:Perhaps they want to hear recordings of baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau with Sviatoslav Richter on piano. I don't know if they like coffee and biscuits, but it's worth a try...Tricky-Loops wrote:Do they like some coffee? I've made some coffee and offer some biscuits. After tea time they can rule the world, if they really want to...
...for music they seem to be very fond of sine waves and rhythmic pulses spiced with a few explosions!Meffy wrote:Perhaps they want to hear recordings of baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau with Sviatoslav Richter on piano. "Take us to your lieder."

Hi dusted william,
It will be themed like the pack 03 (horror) and 04 (winter holidays), this time the theme is science fiction. It will have around 1700 samples for a size of roughly 1.5 GB which will make it the largest yet.
The minimum donation will be between $20 and $25 depending on when I stop adding samples.
Let me know if you have other questions.

A Space Drama in 4 Acts:
Act 1, Space Adventure : 0m00 - 1m45
Act 2, You're drunk : 1m46 - 2m22
Act 3, Mysterious Peril : 2m23 - 2m33
Act 4, Lost Contact : 2m34 - 3m17
Made using only samples from the "Memory Collection Pack 05 - Sci-Fi and Aliens sample pack. No other processing except for the "Lost Contact" sample at the end.

Those interested can watch the video of the piano roll of the first act below. It's a good way to see how the samples are organized. It shows the start position and the length of time that each sample plays. Many of the samples are long and trimming their playback length allows to select only their beginning.

EasyBeats 2 is a lot of fun and allows the quick creation and modification of beats or sample based patterns.
In this video I have used specially trimmed/shortened versions of samples from the Memory Collection 05 - Sci-Fi and Aliens.

A set of 3 tracks produced entirely in Caustic 2. They combine an immoderate use of samples from my Memory Collection packs with retro beats, cool synth work, and audio processing, a spicy dish!

Also note that in July the MC pack 05 is 40% off. The minimum donation being $12 instead of $20!
