You might have a more discerning ear than me. Maybe you're just picky about what you like? For me, only one of these sound good; R4 didn't make the cut, in this application. TSE was decent thoughhibidy wrote:I can't believe that it's the "clear" winner. It sounds icky to me. Fizzy, and has no body AND I don't like the tone in a mix. Oh well........hibidy island is closed for maintenance
Any word on Revalver 4 release?

Since MK III.V also operates as a VST you can use the VST Host module of ReValver 4 to load MK III.V or other Revalver editions inside it.

Every time I try to play with the Demon's preset called "The Lead", my ASIO meter gets maxed out. I don't think any of the other presets do this.
I'm on a Core i7 3770, Windows 8.1, Cubase 7.5
Edit: It appears that when there's no audio coming through is when the ASIO meter jumps, which is sometimes a signal of denormalization issues.

Please replace the Demon module and see if it still happens.xphen0m wrote:Every time I try to play with the Demon's preset called "The Lead", my ASIO meter gets maxed out. I don't think any of the other presets do this.

Yes, it still does. I think it has something to do with something in the rack.Jacare wrote:Please replace the Demon module and see if it still happens.xphen0m wrote:Every time I try to play with the Demon's preset called "The Lead", my ASIO meter gets maxed out. Very nice! How much is Nebula and SD VTP adding to/changing the tone? Would be good to hear a comparison with Revalver's cab and fx. In any case, the Vox sound is achieved here [/quote]
Hey Blue !! I think that with nebula and sd vtp... you can get a better tone..a better response... because nebula cant do distortion, but using it with a amp sim ... + studio devil vtp for that "tube" warmth" and + nebula cdsounmaster gtr vtx sort of a barebone tone from the premap to speaker output.... a little delay..or reverb and your on the money big time!!! check this soun samples.... a b between revalver and with sd vtp and nebula... i think is missing just a little eq on the nebula... but the overall sound i think it sounds better with nebula... because it brings up all the nuances and dynamics pretty well... by the way this approach revives any amp sim.. just putting this plugin and voila!! sounds amazing...

i see you can alter the power tubes used in the schematic. Can you bypass the power tubes completely? This does seem improved from the prior version tone-wise so I am intrigued.
Also, I hope that Peavey smartens up and gets rid of the dongle thing. I feel sorry for the chap that had his computer messed up by uninstalling all the remnants that Peavey touched. Wouldn't have happened if we didn't have this unnecessary dongle business going on.

guys if you dont think this is the way to go i give up..LOL..... this are the best sounds that i can get ITB ... soundsamples from revalver 4 with the classic 30.... some tracks ive used the own cabinet...and in others ive bypassed the cabinet and add nebula Henry Olonga fender champ with a studi devil vtp before the cab...to add a tube warmth and thats it pretty much! I dont wont to "sell" any of nebula cabs or sd vtp...but if you guys like what you hear..thats the way to go..im on this play and try and try again alomst 2 or 3 years ..right now i think ive found the best approach IMO... to get great guitar tones itb...let the sounds speak! see yaaahhh

After an inspiring morning jam, I plopped down the fundage for this beast
This software is VERY good; you will probably have to work to find your tone though--plug-and-play it is not. The tones don't always come easy, but if you are willing to tweak a bit you will be rewarded.
Well done, Peavey
