And while you are at the Echochamber site, make sure to grab the doublebass samples, they're the best freebies for double bass there are. Coming in EXS format, so Kontakt and HALion will load them fine, easily mappable in any other sampler too.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Thanks, CinningBao for the links, Im into impulses too. :D

Those for sale at Syberdelix are a fair price. Oh, the first demo link works, but not others. When it comes to impulses you do realy need a few demo's to see if those work for you, just like any sample. 8)

Noisevault and Echochamber are the 2 main sites. Go through this thread here;
http://noisevault.com//index.php?option ... opic=852.0
at Noisevault and you will find an electic number of links there. There is also quite a few on on other threads there too, besides their library.

I'm on OSX with Tracktion. What software could I use to get into SIR / Convolution... etc without spending $900?

http://www.geocities.com/kangimp/ (For Sound Forge's Acoustic Mirror Direct-X Plugin, but can be used with other convolution software but may not sound as good.)

I have a VST called Impulsive at
http://extra.schematron.com
for synthesizing Impulses. You put it in your host, play an impulse to an audio file that you then load into SIR.

Unlike modelers, this doesn't give you a virtual room, it is just a noise generator sent through a filter array where each filter has its own level envelope. I find this is actually very musical and intuitive, and allows many good reverbs and effects.
