Eggshells....
The lfos were originally triangles and Andy refused to implement Sines and seriously suggested to generate them via midi. That was the most stupid and insolent thing I've ever seen written by a developer. So I looked at the new GUI and still saw no indication of a sine wave selection.
And golfclap by the way to not let me choose 2 sines ...

Hey Andy!andy-cytomic wrote:You can have a 20+ sin waves, 20+ ADSRs, and 20+ step sequencers, all at audio rate if you want. Just use the FM input and an external audio signal generated by something like the Expert Sleepers Silent Way set of plugins. If your host is not able to do the routing for you easily then use a modular host like the free one from Image Line called Minihost Modular. Otherwise you could use a host that has it's own control rate LFOs that can control plugin parameters, like Reaper or a bunch of others.
Huge fan of your work and own both of your plug-ins. Until you posted this I thought that Expert Sleepers Silent Way plug-ins were for analog synths only, but this is too cool for school if you support this kind of CV through the FM input.
I'm a novice and know almost nothing about CV, but now my interest is piqued. You speak like you have real world experience with this and wonder if you could share how you set this kind of thing up? In Live I suppose I could route the output of the audio from Expert Way into The Drop which sits on a group bus and all other audio to be processed by The Drop routed through the group to be processed there?
Kinda like this?
In this example, Supercharger GT is on the group (The Drop would be here instead - I only chose this plugin because it's so easy to side chain), and microtonic is the side-chained signal (Expert Sleepers would be here?)
I don't use The Drop very much right now because it's CPU is pretty demanding but I haven't tried any new version in a long time. I really like the GUI work you're doing with your plug-ins too. All of it looks fantastic to me.
Thanks for being an awesome developer, I appreciate your efforts and am a fan of your work.
I just wonder if Expert Sleepers can be used with other ITB VST plug-ins if it can be used with The Drop in this way, my mind is a little blown since I thought it was only for the analog OTB gear like MS-20's, modulars, etc.
Take it easy!

Add The Drop to any audio / instrument channel you want to process. Create a sub group with all the things you want to modulate The Drop with, then send them to the 3/4 input of The Drop (external sidechain input / secondary stereo input). From The Drop choose AUDIO SC / IN SC from the source selector of the FM, then dial in some FM modulation and the cutoff is wobbled at audio rate by the incoming modulation audio. You can mix modulation depths either with the faders on silent way, or the amplitude faders in your host. Save this as a template and you can instantly recall a monster modulation setup with as many envelopes, lfos, and step sequencers as you want.

I like it. Way better without the black background and the blue color is much nicer than the yellow. Thumbs up.andy-cytomic wrote:No more mockups, here is an actual screenshot with the visualiser in action (just showing the frequency response)

Big improvement over that first mock up. Great job. Can't wait to try it out.andy-cytomic wrote:No more mockups, here is an actual screenshot with the visualiser in action (just showing the frequency response)

For modulation the triangle and sine waves sound 99% identical. They're always skewed by the logarithmic nature of frequency anyway, so it's hard to tell if you're hearing a curve or a straight line, unless you set things up to be the ideal sine/triangle research environment.

You must have been tempted to mirror image the filer sections up top. I might still be tempted
