The two plug-ins to follow up ThrillseekerLA will certainly feature 'Stateful Saturation', After all it is what Herbert's been digging into very much in-depth (obviously).
The VoS wordpress blog states the intent and also how proud (Yet still really understated IMVeryHumbleHO) of what has been achieved upto and including TsLA.
So even I can read that as a "Yep expect at least two more involving the implementation of the same thing as deployed in TsLA's "Interstage" processing section"
I am just really looking forward to what they will be but in the meantime just totally loving having ThillseekerLA 'as is'. One thing is a safe bet - Herbert will not put out anything 'Me To'
The manual says that when the range control is turned fully left the compression curve dissapears/turns plain linear, So the compression is as "bypassed" as it can possibly be within ThrillseekerLA.
However I can not say for certain that this absolutely removes all compression as I ain't the Man
It is worth noting though that driving a console/desk into THD with or without a compressor in the circuit that it will/does cause dyamic range reduction to some extent (depending on many variables)
A.M. Gold man, Out of curiousity/intrest in giving this a shot myself when i can do Have you run ThrillseekerLA acting as a great sounding analogue vibe/colour/funk device with the range control dialed so zero (as far as we know so far) compression is happening on multiple tracks in your host on a mix? If you have done or anyone else if you would not mind posting a clip or two I would appreciate it very much or just elaborate, I am all ears
I sorely wish that i had some more 'audio' or 'me' time at the moment to get even more stuck in myself
All the best to all as always and take care

Another reason to have a saturation/transformer section as a separate plug-in would be GUI size. This is the kind of thing that if you had it on many or all of your tracks strictly for saturation/analog color, you might want to have many GUI instances open at the same time in order to fine tune the track settings in relation to one another.

great para comp. Every bit as good as density (v1...I don't like v2). I might like this even more than density
many thx!
edit: definitely!
makes these congas come alive (mute on para comp is automated off/on):

My initial impression was: meh...what's this all about??
After several days, playing with THD, Range knob, mix level switch spectrum it is something like:
OMG !!!
This thing is awesome. Plenty of color, character and musical compression..AMAZING!!!

Try playing with the Input knob(or by Mix knob you meant exactly Input knob?)kmonkey wrote:My initial impression was: meh...what's this all about??
