AT Fender's Vibratone 1x10 rotary cabinet emulation (hosted in Amplitube 3/Custom Shop for 64-bit compatibility) is capable of some amazingly on-target emulation of even the subtle things. Before AT3 was even a thing, actually, I thought it was just crazy how good it sounded. Genuinely game-changing.
Then they added two well-selected Leslie cabs in AT3 and now they've got three of the best sounding rotary sims around, bar none. I think it's a pretty crazy accomplishment considering how sophisticated the rotary cabinet sound is, with all the Doppler smearing going on, interference, balance between highs and lows. Crazy cool.
Prior to this I thought Guitar Rig had a very nice rotary sim, among the amp modeling plugins. Now I don't think I can, off hand, think of an actual, dedicated, doesn't-do-anything-but-Leslie/etc. plugin that beats it for authenticity of the rotary sound. There are good ones out there, but I think it's as good as emulation gets of rotary cabinets right now.
The rack effects have a much more "effecty" quality to them, I don't ever have to use them though since I've got every damned thing you can buy in the CS (mostly got as packs, but everything you can't get as packs, too). They were pretty good sounding as effects, but they didn't just step up their game, they entered a whole new league with AT:Fender's Vibratone, and the Leslie emus too. I still like the Vibratone loaded up in the modern AT3:CS interface for 64-bit and the ability to use other cabs to make a sort of frankenstein rotary cab, haha. I don't know if it's an a la carte item or not, but if it is, and you're an Amplitube 3:CS user, you really owe it to yourself to at least try the AT:Fender Vibratone cabinet model. You'll probably end up buying it.

That kind of talk wakes me out of luditity.A.M. Gold wrote:+1 on the AT3 rotary speaker. One of the best around, IMO.
Edit: BTW, that was not intended to be a pun.

It REALLY is! I love it on the B3 in SampleTank!A.M. Gold wrote:+1 on the AT3 rotary speaker. One of the best around, IMO.

Hey thanks again for that link I bought it and am very happy about it, I was also tempted to get Magma a little while ago so I'd have an effects rack and this does much of what I was looking for. Plus the tap delay has a reverse mode which I was also looking for. Now I just need to rebuild the callouses on my fingers, I hadn't played guitar much in monthswaltercruz wrote:Well According to Ikmultimedia site, Amplitube 3 includes Amplitube Metal and Jimi Hendrix, and if I recall correctly, I saw a 2nd had amplitube on market place for 80 bucks...

JH Amplitube is my go to amp sim. I really like this plug in. It's no nonsense and sounds great for the type of music I do. I just bought it, and took advantage of the summer sale.
BTW, I have PodFarm. It's pretty good (I've always liked Line 6) but I think they dropped the ball a bit with the interface. It's not as smooth as it should be.

Actually I like the interface of PODFarm well enough, even better in many ways than Amplitube actually, I like that you see everything in the chain in one view. Just it is a little long in the tooth in some ways, but I'll still be using it. But Amplitube is all-around more flexible, expecially vs V1 of PODFarm which I own.

I'm so happy with Amplitube It really sounds great for what I needed it for, warmer than PODFarm with a nice auto-wah. Running it through T-RackS Standard is especially nice, I'm glad I got over my aversion to IK. Now I just need to work on my poor guitar playing.

Yeah I actually bought that before getting AT3. It is a little touchy to dial in the tone I want perfectly though, I'm going for Jerry Garcia's type of Mu-Tron sound but I need to tweak out the whole rack I think before the Mu-Tron will sound close. It is easier to get the regular envelope filter close.ObiK wrote:If you have AmpliTube 3 try the NuTron! Definitely one of my favorite pedals in AmpliTube! Perfect auto wah tone!

I'd love to see some vocal preamps added to Amplitube, and some presets of course. It would also be mighty cool if T-Racks could appear as a rack.

Not to veer off topic too much, but how would you feel about T-RackS using a Custom Shop model? There was talk about it here and among users other places a while ago, but we're seeing a lot of users newer to the whole line with the promos (and they would have T-RackS Standard and models they may want to get like the Fairchild, etc) so I figured I'd ask again.braj wrote:I'd love to see some vocal preamps added to Amplitube, and some presets of course. Sure, I like that myself. Personally I can't afford the $99 singles though, but if there were items that fit my budget sure. I like the pricing on the Amplitube items, they are cheap enough but still give an incentive to buy in bundles.
