does the latest version replace v1 totally or is it still behaving different and have strange sounds which were not before?

Caine, strange sounds - no anymore, it was fixed. But difference compared with v1 - yes, completely different. But personally i'm liked this difference.

thx so much!!! i didnt use v1 much in my projects as v2 was released very soon,so glad that i can then only install trackspacer 2 only

Oh wait buddy, by inertia i still perceive that speech about v2 vs v2.5

No no, sorry, i bought plugin in april this year, and start use it from v2, not tried v1, sorry.

Can't say nothing about compare.

Under Ableton Live, trying to set up parameter value changes (Ratio, etc) has been causing automation to turn off for me.

Yes I am experiencing the same problem. I submitted a ticket to Ableton about it.

After updating to v2.5.4 or my automation issues in Ableton have disappeared.

Works wonderfully on an ancient PC (2011 W7) as well as in a newer and more powerful PC (2018 W10). It's one of those must-have plugins imho. Studio One 4 pro here

Did install it to fresh system now, found that 205 & 254 very well can living along, without any post-actions after install (use vst2 for both). The only thing, the old 205 installer drop the 32bit version dll to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Wavesfactory\Trackspacer" despite you uncheck 32bit during install, so need just delete it, and all nice. Separately thanks to devs for different dll id's\names, so, its recognized properly into daw as two plugs. (I still found that 205 quite needed thing

).
