SiMOD, take this last piece you have made, and listen to it while watching a Jean-Luc Godard old french film in you-tube.
Mute the film... and tell me if you are getting the same feeling I get

Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

You iz thinking right (for that matter, take any movie in black and white - preferably one with a "dark" nature, or simply a Jean-Luc Godard one...) - and it will match this specific piece of audio you have just came up withSampleconstruct wrote:I don't know what you were feeling but they fit well together i thinkTp3 wrote:SiMOD, take this last piece you have made, and listen to it while watching a Jean-Luc Godard old french film in you-tube.

Yes, silly me... I simply attend too many forums (and follow too many html formats)

Thank's - as I just started writing a piece for my brother who is a great trumpet/flugelhorn player - and chamber orchestra I needed something which gives me the best articulation mix possible, and that was VSL. I've played with a lot of great brass players in my life and find sampling solo brass instruments realistically extremely difficult because it will always sound fakey to my ears, but with this library it works quite well. At least I can compose with it without being annoyed with the sound while writingKrakatau wrote: Pretty impressive, especially on phrase's articulation IMO !!!!!!

Nothing but real cave reverb in this one:mandolarian wrote:Sure there's a place for the purist audiophile approach

Actually I cheated a bit: I used a single snare drum hit as a quick and dirty IR to add reverb to the vocals and DIs like synth and upright bass. But its still just the cave, recorded with a wide spaced pair of omnis.

Three more VVV presets:The Modern Chamber preset somehow reminds me of early Autechre/Warp records. Sean once said that the Alesis Midiverb was used on those records. I guess VVV doesn't have much in common with that one, that preset reminds me of the sound nontheless.
It's really cool to finally have a similar sound available! I have a lot of "Wow that sounds like...." moments with VVV in general.
I'm totally in love with the Now mode at the moment by the way
Cheers
Dennis

Because the Designer Folder is in System>Library>Application Support>Valhalla (etc) as opposed to the User>Library (etc) what happens when new updates of Vee3 are installed ?
Do new updates leave the Designer Folder as is ?
