You have to go through the whole registration/authorization process, but that's true if you are buying cheap plug-ins anyway. It's worth it in this case.
Bookmark Variety of Sound and always keep an eye on it. He's overhauling most of his plug-ins over time and they just keep getting better, plus he is a dedicated freeware provider so the prices won't be going up.
While you're on DDMF's site, grab Colour EQ. It's free. No graph but it's a good EQ with some unusual curve shape options, so you might like it.

Also, AFAIK, you can still get a free Plug & Mix plugin, and there are good, maybe even very good, compressors and EQ's in there (none of the EQ's are parametric with graph, but they have some good ones with knobs). You have to like them on Facebook, but the whole process doesn't take long.
