I can't see that at all....

ya, i've already read that post. In it, they say, and I'm paraphrasing here;;
"we use the same GUI designer as Nomad"
"we work closely with Nomad, they are a great inspiration P&M. We also work with other developers and they are also a great inspiration for P&M"
"Nomad provide the installers" ..for some reason.
"The plugins were coded from scratch"

And finally;;

I'm not sure how acute your comprehension skills, but at NO point do they outright & plainly deny that it is/was Nomad ex/current coders who coded the P&M plugins. The closest they have come to identifying the coders is the quote above about NDAs - which is pretty suspicious if you ask me.

If there are other posts, that are more direct, please post them. You did, after all, claim they made these direct statements 'numourous' times so it should be easy for you to provide the links/source. I'd DEFINITELY like to see such quotes, but I don't think they exist. I only recall instances of linguistic gymnastics where they skirt the issue.

From my experience I know that your own comprehension skills sucks, so why question others? :P

:help:

As far as the product is concerned, I like most of them.

Well said. I was thinking exactly the same. I'd be very suprised if there weren't some NF algo's in there instead of only GUI and installer. Nomad has all those algo's already available from many many years of development of their own numerous plugins and NF where never hiding the fact that they do work and lend their technology for 3rd party developers, like for instance Spectrasonics. Nothing wrong with that because NF are obviously highly experienced and very talented devs.

Perhaps DC are a bit cautious that the mighty angry KVR horde will think that these are ALL 'just' one-on-one reskinned and dumbed down old NF plugins or something like that? :shrug:

I own the Nomad Total Bundle or whatever it is called (that $100 deal a couple of years ago), and I own Magma (given to me by one of the five developers who coded it - whose names are publicly available), and now I own P&M.

There may be some recycling of algorithms as others have claimed (but I have no way of telling), but there is very little crossover in terms of functionality. Looking at the contents of Magma, where I would expect there to be the greatest crossover, there is in fact not much at all (apart from one or two somewhat obvious cases on the basis of their names).

I actually find that Magma and P&M complement each other quite well (though Magma's modulation makes it vastly more powerful). From the Nomad Bundle I now only use Magnetic and Echoes and I expect U-He are about to retire one of those, and maybe IKMultimedia the other (?).

I was wary of P&M at first, but this is/was a really good deal. Thanks guys.

I bit on the P&M group buy, so far I like them, some of them are mediocre but the ones I bought the bundle for sound really good, the retro compressor and limiter sound great on many sources, the echoflex and dimension plug ins sound great.

Still lovin those plugins! A new update for them is on its way!

orly? other than what I'm sure are a couple of bug fixes, anything you can share specifically?

"Since the topic comes up so much, we would like to categorically assure you that neither current nor ex Nomad employees were involved in the coding of our P&M plugins" ... is what a dontcrack.com representative will never say.

Nope, none of these plug-ins are made by Nomad Factory, but I can tell you that some (not all) Spectrasonics plug-ins included in Stylus, Trillan & Omnisphere are made by Nomad Factory.

thanks, but I'm afraid even that statement, direct as it seems in some ways, doesn't rule out the possibility that P&M plugs are coded by someone who was a contracted coder at Nomad, at some point. I'd like to see that explicitly stated before I'm willing to bury my suspicions :)

You seem to have a lot of time and not much to do ^^
