with analog all transients are more or less slighty differents it can contribute to give a more 3D sound . how the transients can be rounded and more musical/ pleasant to the ears too.
all the little random drifts happening in analog contribute to the 3D thing ,just for example in diva if you set it up to drift nicely , then turn it off the result sound more 2D and sterile ,it sound flat .
no randomness + digital itb transients give a more machine gun like sterile sound , resulting more in a 2d feel , it s in front and agressive .
trying to get mixs who push the listener to turn up the volume loud is a good way to come out with more pleasing transients and more analog/3d sound .

Just made this using saturation on all the tracks. I think if you use a nice saturation on a particular synth you can really make it come to life. FM & Wavetable synthesis can sound really nice and fuzzy when you saturate them, but the filter they go through has to have a bit of saturation in their signal.

Nice to know I'm not the only one out there that likes their stuff. Some of their stuff is very unique.. solving problems I didn't realize I had. I was very happy when they finally released their most recent round of updates.Chopper wrote:Naenyn wrote:Tried any of the Stillwell Audio / Schwa plugins? Think they might have a few things that might do the trick, too.
This... THIS!!!!
the most amazing developpers. Period.
I definitely agree with you about The Rocket. I quite like Bombardier too. And of course there is Bad Buss Mojo .. wasn't the OP looking for MOJO?

While I appreciate Per posting a link to one of my pieces ( ), the following is actually a lot more pertinent to the topic of 3D-ness (assuming by 3D we mean establishing an illusion of soundstage depth):Per Lichtman wrote:As it happens, one of my colleagues at the magazine recently did a review of Nomad Factory Magnetic II.

2 Cents...though pretty much everybody has covered alot of ground.
If we're talking about Spatial plugins that increase the stereo depth/width (or perception
of an increase) there's a few I like alot...
Proximity is a great "distance plugin".
There's a preset that nails and centers and anchors the bass first time round which I like.
Though there is a decrease in the level of the sound, drop Proximity on your bass channel
and go through the presets , tell me how that goes...!
Then there's the new A1StereoControl , a stereo width plugin which works on
mono and stereo sources, very intuitive to use.
Brilliantly designed GUI.Pretty self explanatory just looking at the controls
unlike some other plugins,a relative joy to work with.
Also have a look at M-ST by WOK along similar lines, minimalist controls but
still great.
Lastly , as has been said before, some of this is down to good plain audio mixing
Making sure sounds are not being masked and obscured by others and are in
their appropriate places on the stereo field, but if you're still on a plugin fix,
the Nova67p plugin everyone is raving about is great for making
bits of your mix pop out. Try the "mastering example" preset on a full mix to give you an idea.
