Yes, we'll add AAX support as soon as possible. There is some paperwork regarding AAX since AVID keeps the format protected, but we're almost through with that.

Hi again everybody!

Version 1.0.2 is now available:

http://acondigital.com/software/Verbera ... _1_0_2.exe
http://acondigital.com/software/Verbera ... _1_0_2.exe
http://acondigital.com/software/Verbera ... _2.pkg.zip

Changelog
  • Further reduction of the CPU usage
  • New presets
  • Portability on Windows
  • Flat package format on OS X with certificate (avoids Gatekeeper alert)
Regarding the portability, Verberate searches for "Verberate1.prop" and a folder called "Presets" in the directory where the DLL is situated. To create a portable version, you can simply copy the Verberate1.prop file from the program data folder (usually "C:\ProgramData\Acon Digital") and well as the preset folder under Verberate (usually "C:\ProgramData\Acon Digital\Verberate\Presets") to the folder where you have the DLL.

Thank you !

The vocal plate preset is beautiful. I usually gravitate toward long verb tails on my vocals, but wow. Very nice.

Looking forward to thumbing through some more tonight. <edit :: bought>

This reverb is excellent. It's the first digital one I've tried that sounds like part of the mix instead of something thrown on top of it.

When will the surround version be ready?

Post

WOW..!

:o

This reverb is bloody fantastic..!

Just tried it on some acoustic guitar strumming as a send effect.

HOLY SHIT..!

I am mega impressed.

I'll have to wait though. I'm a dad and Christmas is around the corner.

This is gonna be my new-year treat.

I've used (and owned) several high-end hardware Lexicon reverbs over the years, and tried (but failed) to replace them with software. The LXP verbs are great, but too pricey for me, and Valhalla Vintage is also up there. But this is something else. It puts the music IN the space. Other verbs don't do this so naturally. It's hard to explain.

CPU isn't a problem here. I usually just use a couple of verbs on send FX buses as opposed to inserts on individual tracks (I'm old-school), so I probably wouldn't have more than two instances in any given project.

Well done Stian!

And Merry Christmas :)

Big thanks to you and the other posters here for the really encouraging comments! That means a lot to me.

Merry Christmas (pity the snow is already melting here...) ;-)

Thanks for the interest. The focus is AAX support right now, but the surround version is next in the pipeline... I hope to have it ready by the end of January.

One question stian...

Will you consider a VST3 version..?

Yes, but I wanted to await VST3 support in the JUCE framework that we use (http://juce.com). According to the developer of the framework, VST3 support will be added in the near future.

That's great news :D

I shall wait in anticipation.

A little niggle - when Presets folder is found next to the DLL (so, portable "mode", let's call it), saving user presets should also open into this folder, instead of Roaming.

Also, fresh opening Verberate here doesn't display the preset name at all (Reaper 4.57, x64)...

Portability works now, great, thanks.

EvilDragon has a good point about user preset saving in portable version, but there might also be one additional thing to consider. In my portable install, I created a separate folder called "My presets" within the Verberate Presets folder. When I open Verberate, I can see that folder and save into there. But that folder will (naturally) appear under Factory presets in the preset list. I think it would be more clear and handy if one could create user folders so that they would show under User presets? I'm nitpicking here, current way already works for me.
