For some time I have wished that Waves would make something more creative than another modeled celebrity EQ or tape machine. Seems that they finally have come up with something interesting that has some real sound manipulation potential in the creative effects field.
It's called Metafilter and it's probably a nice alternative to Soundtoys FilterFreak or u-he Filterscape.

I wonder what MetaFilter will think of MetaFilter.
MetaFilter is approaching 15 years old, and may not be entirely pleased about MetaFilter.

I have a feeling its going to hardly touch The Drop, but I'll give it a try.

The Drop is great but there is no way to setup bandpass, notch, or comb filtering. This is the first Waves plugin I've seen with an HD/over sampling option . Is there a release date for it yet?

Hmm... It's apparently been released already. But I can't find anything about it on the Waves website - Which is odd.
I'm always in the market for a new filter...

Metafilter looks cool. All the basic filter types are there (LP, HP, BP, BR, comb), but unless I'm going blind, I don't see much in the way of variety (e.g., different filter slopes or models).
Edit: n/m, just noticed the "slp" switch in the Resonance box for selecting b/t 24 and (presumably) 12 dB.

Wait... how does this filter filter filters? Surely that's the job of a "meta" filter?
I couldn't find a download either.

I seem to remember seeing info being spread about the IR-Live, the graphic EQs and the Maroquin plug-ins for about a week last year before the website caught up and afterwards, it took weeks for the Maroquin to actually be available.
I think there were several days in between announcement on the website and availability of the Element Synth.
The Scheps, on the other hand, just appeared in the installer before Waves acknowledged its existence. So there you have it, completely unpredictable. Just keep on refreshing that website every ten minutes

You have to be in the WUP VIP Mercury plus program for immediate access. But the first rule of the WVMp is: don't talk about the WVMp, which is why this wasn't mentioned in the press releasehibidy wrote:
