ok, so it's not the greatest playing but here is a clip with the hofa. I know it's over pronounced and wouldn't be right for a mix, but am I just crazy to think this verb sounds fabulous?

Nope, not krazy. It's a fantastic verb.

It does sound good. I've been looking at the hofa verb for a while, although I've decided to focus on Valhalla and Exponential Audio reverbs for now.hibidy wrote:ok, so it's not the greatest playing but here is a clip with the hofa. You thinking about doing a verb shootout? Could be fun ....

Maybe. But what I'm afraid of is that it will be really hard to get the levels all perfectly correct so that when people are listening they get a sense of the reverb.
Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm sold. Just got to wait until they respond back with a couple of niggles (you know, get a sense for support ) and it's quite a chunk of change. Wanna make sure there are no upcoming sales, that kinda thing.

Assuming that all the reverbs mentioned are wonderful, one good reverb for all uses could be (even if someone will tell me that I'm crazy!) Lexicon Pantheon that has very good algorithms and is very light on CPU (and I still use it!), then if you want more character, Valhalla, NI RC Verbs etc etc are Magnifiques...

I would really like to get the Lexicon Native but not sure I want to deal with eLicenser.

Yeah I keep going back to this, despite how much I like B2, Aether or the NI vintage reverbs.Hermetech Mastering wrote:VVV

so I'm having issues with the hofa even more today hopefully with some dialogue we'll figure out what is causing it.
I think though after quite a bit of testing, that I kinda understand what people are talking about convo/vs/algo. Though I like the sound of the hofa on it's own, I'm not sure that when mixed I'm getting any real benefits.
I dunno, concentrating more on what I have and seeing what that can do

Hey Hibidy, the verb sounds pretty good.
Could you post a dry version of the soundbite above.
I want to try a couple on it.
